🎉❤️🚒 WOW! WHAT AN AMAZING KICKAPOO FESTIVAL 2026! 🚒❤️🎉

What a day!! We hope everyone had as wonderful a time as we did!

From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU to everyone who came out to support your Lipan Volunteer Fire Department! ❤️

🔥🍖 A HUGE THANK YOU to our amazing high school BBQ teams! You worked so hard preparing all that delicious BBQ for everyone at Kickapoo! We appreciate your time, your talent, and your willingness to help support the Lipan Volunteer Fire Department. We couldn't have done it without you! ❤️🚒

🍰 To all our wonderful bakers — Those cakes and pies were absolutely AMAZING! Thank you for taking the time to bake and donate your delicious goodies. You really outdid yourselves!

🚗 To the Retro Rock Hoppers — THANK YOU for bringing out all those beautiful cars! What an incredible car show! We loved having you!

🛍️ To all our vendors — Thank you for being part of our special day! We hope you had a fantastic day, met lots of wonderful people, and went home with your pockets full! We appreciate every one of you!

❤️ To our sponsors and everyone who donated — Your generosity helped make this event possible. Whether you donated money, merchandise, auction items, or supplies, please know how much your support means to us!

👏 And a VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to our community volunteers! You stepped up, rolled up your sleeves, and worked right alongside us. Some of you worked behind the scenes, some helped wherever you were needed, and some stayed until the very end. Y'ALL ARE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! We couldn't have done it without you!

🚒 To our firefighters and their families — Thank you for the countless hours of hard work that went into making this day happen!

And finally, TO OUR COMMUNITY ❤️

You continue to show us what makes Lipan such a special place. Neighbors helping neighbors, friends supporting friends, and a community coming together for a great cause.

Every ticket purchased, every auction bid, every donation, and every meal enjoyed helps support the firefighters who are here when you need them.

Kickapoo isn't just a fundraiser. It's a reminder of what a small community with a BIG HEART can accomplish when we all come together! ❤️

From all of us at the Lipan Volunteer Fire Department, THANK YOU for making Kickapoo 2026 such a success!

WE LOVE OUR LITTLE COMMUNITY! ❤️🚒

And we can't wait to see everyone again next year!

❤️ Your Lipan Volunteer Fire Department ❤️

Thanks to Galloway Pro Rodeo some of the first responders from departments around Hood County got to have a wild Saturday night. 5 local department teams participated in a steer saddling event at the rodeo. We’re quite proud of the Lipan VFD team who was the first to have a rider on even if they weren’t the first to cross the line.

🔥ELEVATED GRASS FIRE DANGER – TODAY

Elevated fire weather conditions are expected today due to above-normal temperatures, low relative humidity, gusty southerly winds, and increasingly dry vegetation.

Afternoon temperatures are forecast to reach the upper 90s, with relative humidity falling to 25–30%. Southerly winds of 10–15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph, will increase the potential for grass fires to ignite and spread rapidly.

The public is strongly urged to exercise extreme caution with all outdoor activities that could produce a flame or spark.

Avoid outdoor burning and welding. Use extreme caution when operating equipment in or near dry vegetation, ensure trailer chains are properly secured and not dragging, and never discard lit ci******es outdoors or from a vehicle.

Any fire that starts may spread rapidly and become difficult to control. If you observe a wildfire or uncontrolled fire, call 911 immediately.

Please remain vigilant and help prevent unnecessary wildfire starts.
