According to Lipscomb County Sheriff Ben Eggleston, a high-speed chase that started in Woodward Friday morning ended in Booker with the suspect in custody.

Another law enforcement officer that was on scene confirmed that there was one male suspect in the car and pulled over once he got into Booker. The suspect had a gun but officers were able to get the suspect to put the gun down with no one being injured.

Sheriff Eggleston said he would provide more details when he can.

***MISSING PERSON***
The Castro County Sheriff's Office is requesting the publics assistance in locating the following person who has been reported as missing:

Martin Perez Alvarez 63 years old of Dimmitt

He was last seen on Saturday September 13, 2025 at approximately 3 p.m. by a family member. The family member stated there was no contact with Mr. Alvarez on Sunday September 14, 2025. The family member contacted the Castro County Sheriff's Office on Monday September 15, 2025 at approximately 1:02 p.m. to make a report of a missing person. A search of the property and surrounding area was conducted but no sign of Mr. Alvarez was found.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts or have seen Mr. Alvarez are encouraged to contact the Castro County Sheriff's Office at 806-647-3311.

The Lipscomb County Sheriff’s Office is taking applications for a part time jailer/dispatcher position. Applicants must be over 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, a valid drivers license, no criminal record, and be able to pass a physical and psychological exam. Position includes working nights, weekends and holidays. Salary starts at $15.00 an hour, pay will increase when jailer and telecommunications licenses are obtained. Call 806-862-2611 or come by the Sheriff’s Office for an application.
