The Lisbon Fire Department is selling our old Engine 2 on Municibid.

This apparatus was previously used by our volunteer department and has been replaced with a newer engine. It has been routinely maintained during its service life and was operational when taken out of service.

Thinking about doing some open burning this weekend? Make safety your first step and closely supervise outdoor fires.

Before you burn:
• Check your local ordinances to confirm open burning is allowed.
• Get a fire permit from your local fire department or forest fire warden.
• Have water and tools on hand so you can put the fire out immediately if needed.
• Get written permission from the landowner if the property isn’t yours.

If it's too hot to touch, then it is too hot to leave. Fully extinguish a fire before leaving. This time of year, outdoor fires start to rise and brush fires can quickly drain firefighter time and resources. A little preparation goes a long way in keeping your community safe.

🔥 Fire Prevention Week Fun! 🔥

Last week, Chief Hartwell and Lt. Champagne stopped by Lisbon Regional School to talk with the Pre-K through 5th grade students about fire safety! 🚒

They learned about how to safely charge and dispose of lithium-ion batteries 🔋, and went over some of the basics like Stop, Drop, and Roll, making a home escape plan, getting out and staying out, and of course — how to call 9-1-1. ☎️

We had a great time with the kids and want to thank the school staff for letting us come in and share some fire safety tips. Stay safe, Lisbon! 🔥👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

🚨 Great news for Lisbon Fire and EMS!🚨

We’re excited to share that we’ve been awarded $153,741 through the Assistance to Firefighters Grant program. This funding will allow us to purchase brand-new portable radios for our firefighters and EMT’s improving communication and safety during emergencies.

Thank you to FEMA/AFG for the support, and thank you to our community for always standing behind us. This is a big win for Lisbon!

🚨 STATEWIDE BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🚨

Effective Monday, September 22, 2025, the Governor’s Proclamation prohibits all open fires and smoking in and near woodlands across New Hampshire due to extremely dry conditions and high fire danger.

✅ What this means:
• All open burning is prohibited (campfires, brush fires, fire pits, etc.)
• No smoking in or near woodlands or on public trails
• Fire permits are suspended until further notice

⚠️ The only exceptions are:
• Liquid-fueled gas grills, lanterns, and stoves
• Campground fires in approved fire rings at inspected campgrounds with seasonal fire permits
• Training fires under direct supervision with a state permit

These restrictions are in place to protect our community and natural resources from the very high risk of wildfires. The Lisbon Fire Department asks everyone to comply until conditions improve and the ban is lifted.
