We are proud of all of the members for growing with us and being a big part in why we are able to cover these calls. We would also like to thank the residents of Madison, Elkrun, and Wayne Townships for all the support given to us, not only this year, but for the years past and future. The West Point Fire Department staffed Station 1 last night preparing for the inclement weather. While on station, Firefighter/Advanced EMT Lucas Davis, Probationary Firefighter Jeremy Freeman, Probationary Firefighter Alex Ludy, and Second Lieutenant Rich Thrasher trained on movement and breathing techniques by putting on full turnout gear and air packs, and going outside to attempt to build a snowman. Due to the thinness of the snow, we were unable to make the snowman. We then moved to search and rescue drills in the parking lot and working on communication techniques with radios. These training exercises help us prepare better for emergencies that we respond to.
