4-H, FFA and Open Class livestock and static exhibit check out is Sunday from 7:00 a.m. to Noon. Open Class static, horse and livestock premiums will be distributed during this time in the Expo Center.

Sign up for the Corn Hole Tournament that begins at 1:00 p.m.

The Carnival will be open from 1:00-5:00 p.m. with wristband rides during this time.

4-H, FFA and Open Class livestock shows continue Friday starting with Swine then followed by Sheep.

The first annual Matthew Lyons Legacy of Service Award will be awarded to a very deserving recipient at 4:00 p.m. at the AgCountry Show Ring followed by livestock awards.

The 4-H & FFA Premium Sale will begin at 4:30 p.m. If you are interested in getting a bidding number ahead of the sale stop by the Fair Office anytime before Friday at 3:30 p.m. After that the bidding numbers will be available at the AgCountry Show Ring right before the sale.

4-H and Open Class Horse Show is this Sunday, August 23. Registration is 7:30-8:15 a.m. The show will begin at 9:00 a.m.

Age divisions: 6-11 Junior, 12-14 Intermediate, 15-18 Senior, 19 & older Adult.

The start of the Ransom County Fair is just a week away. . . . . Well Kind of. We kick off fair activities this Sunday, August 23rd at the horse arena with the 4-H and Open Horse Shows starting at 9 a.m. Then we move into the following week on Tuesday with 4-H Static exhibit entry and Interview Judging. On Wednesday the animals start arriving with the rabbit and poultry shows on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday the large animals will get to show off in the Ag Country Farm Credit Services Arena. Friday afternoon will have our overall livestock showmanship contests at 2 p.m. and at 4:00 p.m. we will have an awards ceremony to recognize the livestock and horse interview judging award winners, we will recognize the overall horse exhibitors and all of our livestock showmanship winners with the premium sale getting started at 4:30 p.m.

New this year we will be recognizing The Matthew Lyons Legacy of Service honoree at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28 in the Ag Country Farm Credit Services Arena. This program will be just prior to the 4-H and FFA Livestock Awards. We hope you will join us for this special presentation where we can honor Matt's legacy of community service and to recognize an individual that gives a lot of their time to different organizations throughout the county. The individual being honored will receive a plaque recognizing them as the 2026 Matthew Lyon's Legacy of Service Honoree, they will receive a gift certificate to a Ransom County restaurant, they will have their name placed on an honor roll plaque that will be on display in the main entrance of the Ransom County Expo Building, and the Matthew Lyons' Family will donate $500 to a nonprofit of the honorees choosing.

Saturday is Kids Day with many activities throughout the day for the kids along with the annual fair parade at 10 a.m. down main street.
