On 3/13/26, Sheriff Brian McLaughlin and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, along with units from the Salem Police Department, executed a search warrant at 1158 South Lincoln Ave, apt. C, in Salem. Agents detained 6 individuals inside, including resident Danielle Kenst.

During a search of the residence, Agents located approximately 35-40g of suspected methamphetamine in total. Agents also recovered numerous scales, packaging material, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking and drug abuse.

CCDTF requested the assistance of the Columbiana County Mobile Crisis Response Team. Peer support personnel responded to the scene and offered treatment and recovery services to residents of the apartment.

On 3/6/26, Sheriff Brian McLaughlin and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, along with units from East Liverpool PD and Liverpool Twp PD, executed a search warrant at 1105 St. George St in East Liverpool. Agents located resident Nicole Moman on the front porch with suspected crack co***ne on her person.

During a search of the residence, Agents located approximately 80g of suspected co***ne and suspected crack co***ne, $25,297 in cash, and digital scales/packaging material used to facilitate drug trafficking.

02/27/2026

On 2/27/26, Sheriff Brian McLaughlin and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, along with units from Wellsville PD, East Liverpool PD and the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at 709 Riverside Ave in Wellsville. Units were also assisted by K-9 Diva (CCSO).

In the garage, Agents located Anthony Mascarella, a.k.a. “Duke”. A search of the immediate area found approximately 245g of methamphetamine, 140g of co***ne, and 22g of fentanyl. Agents also recovered $395 in cash on Duke’s person and recovered a 9mm handgun from the primary residence.

Mascarella was taken into custody by Ohio Adult Parole and is being held on parole violations while Agents await lab results for drug charges.

On 2/13/26, Sheriff Brian McLaughlin and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, along with units from Wellsville PD, East Liverpool PD and the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant at 2023 Danbury Avenue in Wellsville, the residence of Patricia Myers. Units were also assisted by K-9 units Mac (WPD) and Diva (CCSO).

A search of the residence found over 70g of suspected co***ne, prescription pills, a few grams of methamphetamine, and a loaded 9mm handgun. Agents located packaging material consistent with drug trafficking, as well as a large amount of “cutting” substance, commonly used by drug dealers to mix into their drugs to increase the volume for resale.

Sheriff McLaughlin and his staff wish to acknowledge the outstanding generosity of our community, which has donated a substantial number of toys and clothing items. Our cruisers and Special Response Team truck were filled to capacity with gifts for the kids. We are also grateful to the local businesses that permitted us to use their parking lots for our toy drive.

On 12/10/2025, the Belmont County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle finding occupant Hashim Dunlap in possession of roughly 4lb of suspected methamphetamine. Belmont County began working with the Columbiana County Drug Task Force immediately following the stop in an effort to further the investigation.

Investigators quickly identified one of Dunlap’s numerous frequented residences, 341 E. 8th St. in East Liverpool, was likely being used as a stash house for more illegal drugs. In the afternoon of 12/11/2025, Sheriff Brian McLaughlin and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at this residence. Agents were assisted by ELPD Officers and K9 Jimmy with CCSO.

A search of the residence found roughly 275g of suspected methamphetamine, 60g of a suspected co***ne and/or fentanyl compound, and over 200g of prescription pills. Agents also located packaging material consistent with drug trafficking.

The Drug Task Force would like to express our appreciation to the Belmont County Criminal Interdiction Unit and the Bridgeport Police Department for their investigative work and partnership in this case. Cooperation with other local, state, and federal Agencies is essential in cases involving large drug trafficking organizations. It was a pleasure working with the investigators from Belmont County.

On 11/25/25, Sheriff Brian McLaughlin and the Columbiana County Drug Task Force, along with units from Wellsville PD, executed a search warrant at 507 15th St in Wellsville. Agents encountered Ramel Shephard, Destiny Earich, Taylor Thrasher, and Tysin Gordon inside. Thrasher was later taken to jail on an outstanding warrant.

A search of the residence found 14g of suspected co***ne, 15.5g of suspected crack co***ne, 2g of suspected fentanyl, and $880 in cash. The drugs were packaged for resale, and Agents located paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.
