Today marks two years since the tragedy in Lewiston.

On October 25, 2023, our state was forever changed by the events that claimed the lives of 18 innocent people and deeply impacted so many families, friends, and our communities.

As we pause to remember this day, we honor the victims whose lives were taken far too soon and extend our heartfelt thoughts to their loved ones. We also recognize the strength and resilience shown by the Lewiston community, and we stand with them today and always.

To all the first responders, medical personnel, dispatchers, and community members who answered the call that night, your courage and compassion will never be forgotten.

May we continue to support one another, keep the memories of those lost alive, and remain united as one Maine community. ๐Ÿ’™

The Lisbon Police Department will once again be participating in the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take-Back event. The event will be held on October 25th, between the hours of 10am and 2pm at the Lisbon Police Department.
If you have unused, expired or no longer needed medications in pill or capsule form, there will be an officer posted outside the police department during the event to receive your surrendered items for proper disposal.
Several other area agencies are also participating in the event, so if you live outside of Lisbon, check with your local law enforcement agency for a collection site closer to you.
Needles and liquid medications are not accepted as part of the event, however liquids and other mediations (still no needles), are accepted any time at the INMAR collection box located in the lobby area of the police department.

The Lisbon Police Department would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to our area credit unions and our neighbors across the street at the Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union, for bringing delicious food to our officers on Tuesday during the day and Wednesday evening.

Your generosity and kindness truly made our day extra special. It means a lot to know that our community partners care so deeply about their police officers. ๐Ÿ’™

Weโ€™re proud to serve such a thoughtful and supportive community. Thank you for all that you do!

๐Ÿ’” Found Item โ€“ Please Help Us Return It to it's owner ๐Ÿ’”

Today, a necklace/charm was found in Beaver Park and turned into the PD. It appears to have a photo of a women with a boy, and an inscription on the back. This item seems to contain ashes, making it deeply sentimental.

If you recognize this necklace or know who it may belong to, please contact the Lisbon Police Department at 207-353-2500, ext. #1 so we can help return it to its rightful owner.

We appreciate any help in reuniting this precious keepsake with the person who lost it.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month โ€” a time to stand together, raise awareness, and support those impacted by abuse. Remember: if you see something, say something. Your voice can help make a difference.

A sincere thank you to Safe Voices and for the incredible work you do every day. ๐Ÿ’œ

The Lisbon Police Department was notified today, Monday, September 29, 2025, by the Maine CDC that a raccoon involved in an incident on Friday, September 26, 2025, on Cheryl Dee Avenue (off Gayton Road near Lewiston) has tested positive for Rabies.
