It's officially here! Our Book Sale Special Preview starts today - this is your chance to get a sneak peek at the thousands of books, movies, music, magazines, puzzles, games & more BEFORE the official Lisbon Homecoming book sale on Saturday, 8/16 from 9am-3pm.

A $20 donation at the FRONT DOOR grants access to browse & select as much as one adult can carry out the door in a single trip. Is that one bag? two bags? three bags? or MORE?

Seriously, bring your BIG BAGS and stock up on books and goodies for the whole family - as much as you can carry out the door in one trip!

We've got a huge parking lot located off Church Street across from the Town of Lisbon Highway Department, and ask that you please use the front entrance for access to the book sale. If you need an accessible entrance, please call us at 315-393-0111 and we'll let come and open the side door for you.

The library is accepting donations for our upcoming book sale (August 16 during Lisbon Homecoming.)

Donations accepted through August 8 during normal library hours. Please use the side door and place them on the table in front of the fireplace.

Stay tuned for more information on our early-bird pre-sale, and our official sale on Lisbon Homecoming Saturday, August 16!

IMPORTANT: North Country Library System sent out a system-wide email today, in error, regarding overdue fines and other charges that are likely not valid under the Lisbon Library's current circulation policy.

If you received such an email, we sincerely apologize, as it was generated without our advance knowledge.

Please private message us here, or email us at lislib (at) ncls. (org). If the items belong TO Lisbon and were borrowed directly FROM Lisbon, then our local policies will apply.

We'll take a brief look at your library account and likely be able to remove the charges.

If the items belong to another library, or were borrowed from another library, that library's policies would apply rather than Lisbon's.

Given that we are under a weather advisory until Wednesday evening (January 29), the library will not open Wednesday morning. If conditions and/or the weather forecast improves, we'll open Wednesday afternoon!

It's that time of the year, time to share our Inclement Weather Policy.

In a nutshell, we follow what Lisbon Central School does most days, with library staff making our own decision on days we open at 3 and school is closed - we'll reassess after lunch and decide if weather and road conditions have improved (often they have), and we'll open at our regular time of 3 pm.

All that being said, today LCS is cancelling after school activities, so the library will close at 3 to mirror school.

If you attend regular meetings or classes at the library in the evening, most facilitators have a key to the building and will make their own decisions regarding road conditions for the evening hours.

The library will be closed on Monday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day.
