Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Thelma Rist. A fierce advocate for those with mental illness at both the state and local levels, Thelma worked tirelessly to reduce stigma, educate the public, and champion recovery in Columbiana County. She was a longtime member of the Columbiana County Mental Health and Recovery Services Board, serving several terms as the Board Chair before retiring her seat in 2021. For more than 20 years, she spearheaded an annual toy drive for the Counseling Center, ensuring that the children of the families served by the Center had gifts under the tree on Christmas morning. Thelma will surely be missed.

Stop by Family Recovery Center's 5th Annual Overdose Awareness Day event on Saturday, August 29th, from 10 AM to 2 PM in downtown Lisbon.

This free event offers attendees an afternoon to connect with resource providers, enjoy tunes via SoundSmith DJ Services, and a bite to eat.

Assistant Prosecutor Krista Peddicord of the Columbiana County, Ohio Prosecutor's Office presented the annual training to CCMHRSB members Tuesday night prior to the Board's regular meeting. Assistant Prosecutor Peddicord educated members about the involuntary commitment (known as "pink slipping") and judicial hospitalization processes. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with us!
