A little behind-the-scenes look at a shower remodel we completed in our own primary bathroom! 🚿

We loved the original design, but the pebble tile had a lot of bumps and grooves that made it difficult to keep clean. We removed it and replaced it with a darker hexagon tile, which instantly gave the shower a cleaner, more elevated look.

The bright red layer you see during the process is a waterproofing and moisture barrier that protects the area underneath the tile. Since there would have been a wider grout line where the new floor tile met the wall tile, we added a white pencil border to break up the two surfaces and help everything flow together more smoothly.

Sometimes, it’s the smaller design decisions that make the biggest difference—and we love how this update turned out!

This kitchen remodel started a little differently.

The homeowner had already started demo when they called us. They knew they needed help finishing the remodel, but they were not sure what it would cost or how far their budget would go.

They also had a flooring quote from a big competitor that was thousands of dollars more than ours, with a longer wait time and materials that were not any better. After comparing the details, they were able to cancel that contract, do the flooring with us, and save money.

This is your reminder to always shop around and get more than one estimate before choosing a contractor. Bigger companies can sometimes come in with high-pressure sales tactics and big warranty promises, but when you read the fine print, it may not be much different.

We stayed very close to the homeowner’s budget, kept the project moving, and even left them with a temporary sink to make the transition a little easier.

We’re taking this Phoenix rental and completely reworking the layout to make it more functional, more valuable, and better suited for co-living. From converting the laundry room into a 3rd bathroom to adding a 5th bedroom, every change is intentional.
