Learn how to make your own no-bake snacks using oats and peanut butter! They're quick to make, easy to pack in a lunch box, and keep well in the fridge. We'll also cover how you can customize the recipe to your liking with different combinations of mix-ins, nut butters, and sweeteners.

ALLERGEN NOTE: This recipes we use in this program include peanut butter and sunflower seed butter. We are happy to work around allergies or other dietary needs, but we are not able to completely eliminate the possibility of airborne particles or cross-contamination.

Today we're welcoming back our teachers and staff for District Day! We started the day by celebrating milestone service awards from 5 years of service, all the way to 40 years of service to the Litchfield School District!

Thank you to everyone who was celebrated today for their commitment to helping our students imagine greatness...and expect success!

This week we've been getting busy for the students to come back to school next week, by getting our teachers and staff ramped up and ready for the new year!

So far this week, we met our new professional staff who met the current district and school staff, received their devices, learned about our student information system, HR, integration of learning and digital tools, special ed, curriculum, grading, and professional learning!

We also spent some time meeting with new mentors, reviewed our district's mentor program and discussed the attributes of a good mentor, including outlining what's to come for our mentors and mentees! Thank you to our Mentor Coordinators for such a terrific job in assisting with the facilitation of this incredible program!

✨ Celebrating Those Who Make a Difference Every Day ✨

One June 9, the Litchfield School District came together for our first-ever Educator & Support Staff Awards Ceremony, generously sponsored by the Litchfield Veteran’s Group. It was an unforgettable evening filled with gratitude, appreciation, and celebration as we honored the incredible people who dedicate themselves to our students and our schools every day.

Throughout the evening, we heard heartfelt stories from students, families, colleagues, and community members about the lasting impact our educators and support staff have made. These stories reminded us that the work happening in our classrooms, offices, hallways, and behind the scenes truly matters.

We were also honored to recognize two retiring members of our school community, Shawn McDonough and Robin Corbeil, celebrating their years of service and the countless lives they have touched throughout their careers. Each retiree was presented with a handcrafted rocking chair as a meaningful symbol of our appreciation, gratitude, and the many memories they have helped create along the way.

A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who nominated a deserving colleague, shared a story of appreciation, attended the celebration, and helped make this inaugural event so special. We hope this marks the beginning of a cherished tradition where we continue to recognize and celebrate the outstanding individuals who make the Litchfield School District such a wonderful place to learn and grow.

A message from Superintendent O'Connell to the Litchfield community -

Hello Litchfield students and families,

I am happy to announce that, with support from the Litchfield Veterans Group, we will be beginning what will hopefully be a new Litchfield School District tradition of recognizing some of our outstanding educators at our schools.

We will be holding the first annual Litchfield School District Educators of the Year awards ceremony in June where we will be recognizing a teacher from each school and a support staff professional from each school and the SAU who have made a positive impact on the students and the greater school community of Litchfield. To help us determine recipients for the awards, we are reaching out to the community for nominations. If you would like to nominate a professional in our district, please click on the form found below. Nominations will be open through Wednesday, May 20th and you may nominate as many educators as you would like.

We are hopeful that this will be the start of a new and positive tradition for the Litchfield School District where we can formally recognize some of our outstanding staff. What a fantastic way to celebrate the “Class of 25-26” 😂🎉

This amazing group of mentees and mentors has spent the year learning, growing, supporting one another, and helping make the Litchfield School District such a special place for students and staff alike. We are incredibly lucky to have such dedicated educators joining and strengthening our schools!

A huge thank you to our Building Mentor Coordinators, Sandy Doucette, Carolyn Leite, and Ann Helbling, along with Dr. Sarah Taylor, for leading and supporting this program throughout the year. Your guidance, encouragement, and commitment to our educators truly makes a difference.

We also want to recognize all of the mentors who generously shared their time, knowledge, and support with our new educators this year. And to our mentees, thank you for all of your hard work, passion, flexibility, and the energy you bring to our schools every day.
