Dr. Todd Austin from Virden gave a prepared speech about and the Colorado tonight at .

He educated an audience that does not follow College 🏈 about Coach Sanders, Quarterback Shedeur Sanders, Wide Receiver/Cornerback Travis Hunter, Runningback Dylan Edwards, Wide Receiver Jimmy Horn, Jr., and why Boulder, Colorado is now the Center of the College Football Universe since September 2nd.

Our next meeting will be on Thursday night 9/14/23 at 7 PM at the U of I Cooperative Extension Building in Hillsboro.

Dr. Todd Austin from Austin Family Chiropractic in Virden will be the prepared speaker at our next meeting.

Our meetings are open to guests / the general public.

Montgomery County Toastmasters Club - Hillsboro, IL is a Toastmasters International club. Our goal is to help our members and the public to improve their Communication & Leadership skills.

Members can go through the Toastmasters program at their own pace.

Meet Nicholas James, FFA Illinois State Speech Competition 1st Place Winner. 🥇

[On June 8, 2023 Montgomery County Toastmasters Club #1252478 had the pleasure of hearing him give his speech; afterward we gave him a group evaluation.]

He then won 1st Place at the State competition in Springfield, IL yesterday. We understand he will now be going on to the International Competition from here.

Congratulations, Nicholas! Great job!

We had a great meeting on Thursday night!

Outgoing President Vi Lanum installed President Elect Brenda Masters-Stout.

We had 3 guests from Pocahontas (Bond County) in attendance. All 3, Jake, Dawn & Nicholas James participated in Table Topics (our Impromptu Speaking exercise) and did a fine job!

Our 2 prepared speakers were Nicholas James and Vi Lanum. Both speeches were outstanding.

Speech titles:
1) "Petroleum Alternatives for the Agricultural Industry"
Nicholas will also be presenting this speech next Tuesday at the state FFA Convention in Springfield, IL.

2) "A Lifetime of Miracles" - Vi Lanum

Our next meeting will be on Thursday July 13th at 7 PM at the Montgomery County Extension Building in Hillsboro. Guests are always welcome and encouraged to attend.

We had a great meeting tonight! Congratulations to our guest prepared speaker Nicholas James! He'll be competing next Tuesday in Springfield at the State FFA Convention

We had our Annual Belated Club Christmas Party this evening at the Challacombe House.

Next month we'll be back to holding a regular club meeting at our normal meeting place, the Montgomery County Extension Office. We hope you can join us as a guest.

A great big "Thank you!" to Area 1 Director Aiden McDonnell (of Quincy) for attending our Montgomery County Toastmasters Club meeting last night.

Here we see Club President and last night's prepared speaker Vi Lanum welcoming A1D Aiden to Mont-Co. TMs.

Her speech was entitled "I Should Have Been A Food Critic". Great job, Vi!
