Join us this Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 1:00 PM, on the steps of the Carnegie Building for a special community reading of the Declaration of Independence.

Thomas Jefferson will be doing the reading, and George Washington will be present as well for security, just in case any British sympathizers try to cause trouble. 😄

Bring a lawn chair, bring the family, and enjoy a fun patriotic event right here in Litchfield as we celebrate America’s 250th together.

Anyone hearing rumors about a Chili’s coming to town should know that is not true. If you listen to last night’s Council Meeting with care you will see that Chili’s was invoked as a point about a zoning issue followed by a light amount of humor. There is no Chili’s coming. Please listen carefully before spreading inaccurate information. Thank you.
