A lot of the work that keeps the lights on happens quietly, behind the scenes.

It happens along roadsides, in fields, near substations, and across miles of cooperative line. Our crews inspect equipment, replace aging infrastructure, respond to outages, and complete the hands-on work it takes to maintain a strong electric system.

Star Energy is performing pole inspections on behalf of Meeker Energy. They are taking place in townships Fahlun, Danielson, Lake Elizabeth, Greenleaf, and East Lake Lillian (the green areas on the map). You may see an ATV and an inspection truck in those townships. Please allow them space to do their work. Inspections keep us safe and the lights on.

Growing season reminder: right-of-ways matter.

Trees, brush, and fast-growing vegetation can create problems near power lines and electric equipment.

Maintaining clear rights-of-way helps reduce outages, improve safety, limit storm damage, speed up restoration, and protect poles, wires, transformers, and other equipment.

This spring and summer, take a look around your property. Watch for branches reaching toward overhead lines, trees growing beneath power lines, brush near poles or guy wires, and landscaping that blocks access to pad-mounted transformers.
Clear access helps crews work safely and restore power more quickly when outages happen.
