Litchfield City Voters: Tomorrow is election day! From 7:00AM to 8:00PM at 221 Jonesville St.
In order to serve all members of the community equally, pictured below is the layout of the polling place. You will vote in the Litchfield City Council Chambers. Voters MUST enter through the City Office's doors on the front and backside. We have used this layout in the past and have found that this is the best way to service everyone.

NOW HIRING!
The City of Litchfield is currently accepting applications for a full-time position in the Department of Public Works. This position is under the direction of the Public Works Superintendent. Water and Sewer certifications preferred. Salary will depend on qualifications.

Applications will be accepted until 5 pm on Friday, July 31st, 2026. Applications can be dropped off at the city office 9 am - 5 pm or in the drop box on the back of the building outside of working hours at 221 Jonesville St., Litchfield, MI 49252. Or they can be emailed to [email protected] with the subject line "DPW Application".

NOTICE: TORNADO SIREN MAINTENANCE

The City will be performing repairs and maintenance on the tornado siren today beginning at 6:00 PM.

During this time, residents may hear the siren sound as testing is conducted. Please be advised that any siren activation during the maintenance period is part of the repair process and does not indicate an actual tornado warning or emergency.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to ensure the siren system is operating properly.

ATTENTION: ROAD CLOSURE NOTICE - AUG 3rd, 2026

You may have noticed the traffic signs posted along M-49 within the City announcing an upcoming road closure beginning August 3.

Please review the road closure map below, which includes the designated detour route. Individuals traveling to and from the Industrial Park are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes during the closure period.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as this work is completed.

The City of Litchfield will have three City Council Member seats and one Mayor seat on the ballot for the November 2026 Election.
Residents may obtain nominating petitions from the City Clerk's Office at 221 Jonesville Street, Litchfield, MI 49252.
Interested residents have until July 21, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. to return completed nominating petitions to the City Clerk's Office!

NOTICE OF ELECTION
The City of Litchfield will have three City Council Member seats and one Mayor seat on the ballot for the November 2026 Election.

Residents interested in running for one of these positions may obtain nominating petitions from the City Clerk's Office at 221 Jonesville Street. For more information, please contact the City office at 517-542-2921.

Completed nominating petitions must be filed with the City Clerk's Office no later than 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.

Serving as an elected official is a great opportunity to make a positive impact on our community. We encourage anyone interested in public service to consider running for office.
