Please make sure you have made the necessary arrangements for your student’s transportation and afternoon plans.

LHS ATHLETICS SCHEDULE UPDATES

Due to the heat advisory in effect through Friday, the following schedule changes have been made:

🏈 Monday, Aug. 31 — JV Football
Tonight’s game at Greenville has been moved to a 7:00 PM start.

🏃 Tuesday, Sept. 1 — Cross Country
The meet at Carlinville has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 8, at 4:30 PM in Carlinville.

⛳ Tuesday, Sept. 1 — Boys Golf
The home match has been canceled.

⚽ Tuesday, Sept. 1 — Boys Varsity Soccer
The Route 66 Kickoff Classic game against Lincolnwood at North Mac has been moved to an 8:30 PM start.

Please stay tuned for any additional schedule updates as we continue monitoring the heat.

Who’s already registered?!? If it’s not you, go ahead and get it done to save $5! Registration closes August 24, but you can sign up the night of the bike ride! $20 for early registration and $25 the night of. Hope to see lots of you there!

Our Panthers are back in action this week! Please keep in mind that with the expected heat, the LHS Athletic Department will be closely monitoring conditions. All schedules are tentative and may be adjusted due to heat. Coaches will share updates as needed.

Rock, Paper, Scissors Day was a hit at Litchfield Middle School!

Students and staff celebrated with a school-wide tournament during passing periods, bringing a little extra fun and friendly competition to the day. Teachers and students alike joined in on the excitement!

Great news, Panthers! The 2025-26 LHS yearbooks have arrived and are ready for viewing! Current students who ordered these yearbooks will receive them on Monday, August 24th during the school day. Class of 2026 graduates can pick these up from the high school main office or may send someone in their place if they are unable to pick it up themselves.

If you did not order a yearbook from the 2025-26 school year but would still like to purchase one, there are a limited number of them available in the main office on a first-come, first-paid basis. Extra yearbooks are $60 each. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Lamore at [email protected].

Our 6th Grade STEM students are already putting their engineering skills to the test!

Students took on the “Coolest Coaster” Marble Run Challenge, using their creativity to design and build their own marble runs. After testing their designs, students voted for their two favorites in the classroom—and the winner will be announced soon!

Next, the challenges get even more exciting! Students will tackle events inspired by Science Olympiad, including designing the tallest, shortest, fastest, slowest, and most precise time-target coaster.

Through each challenge, students will follow the engineering design process: Design. Build. Test. Improve.

We can’t wait to see what they create!
