This past week, we were able to meet the needs of 4 families!

The families are so humbled by your generosity and so grateful to have the opportunity to make a house a home.

You can tell that dressers are a high need item and we’ve been blessed to be able to meet that need! We were also able to rehome a desk with hutch, a La-Z-Boy recliner and a full size bed frame! You all are amazing!

A big thank you to Anna Dee, Scott, Lindsey, and Nadya for your generosity! And to Junior and Juan for helping with deliveries and to Tracy for securing one of the dressers.

The employees of Maximus in Riverview, eager to spread some love and kindness, collectively donated supplies and assembled 12 bulging bags of necessities for families in the program. Items like Fabuloso, paper towels, toilet paper, toothpaste, toothbrushes, schools supplies, soap, t-shirts, and much more overflowed from each bag!

In addition, in a nondescript white envelope slipped in between all the daily use items was a beautifully written, personal, 2-page note of encouragement and solidarity. While the supplies will make daily living easier, the kind words will fuel their souls.

We’d extend our heartfelt gratitude to Jorge Mayol and all the employees at Maximus for their generous donations! The staff is enjoying delivering your kindness during home visits! Thank you!

If you would like to make bags of necessities for families, please email [email protected] for more info.

To be seen is the greatest gift!

Many families in the program are embarrassed to ask for help when they’re not able to provide certain things for their families. In turn, the staff builds trust and ensures the families that there are people out there who want to help and who care - that’s us! We jump into action and do our best to meet their needs.

Last week we were able to help 2 families with furniture. One family received a loveseat and another received a table & chairs and a dresser.

If anyone has a dresser to donate, please comment or message. There are 4 kids in the family so they could really use another dresser.

Both families were so thankful for the help! A big thank you to Jennifer, Molly, Lindsey, Palm, and Kristen for their generous donations!

“Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." - Saint Mother Theresa

The quote above is certainly dependent on perspective. For the items we are able to put together to help families, those are GREAT THINGS!

Imagine finally being able to eat together at a table as a family. Imagine being able to provide a nice outfit for your 5th grader for their graduation. Imagine your aging mother having a new bed to sleep on, your student having a new mattress that you dreamt of providing.

With your kindness, this past week, a 5th grader received needed clothes, 2 families received a table and chairs set each, another a complete full-size bed, and another a twin mattress & fan.

Thank you to all the donors and their families for giving so generously: Dannellys, Olusope, Erin, Nicole, Jakki, and Ritesh. And a big thank you to Toni, Tim, Junior, Jasmine, and Antonio for helping with logistics and deliveries!

Volunteer Opportunity with Nativity Food Bank - 2 slots each Friday - 1 dedicated for ages 16+ and 1 open to middle school+ (with an adult driver if not driving).

Volunteers will help Aurea Rodriguez, volunteer with Nativity Food Bank, pack bags of food for impoverished families in the Dover area then help distribute the food. This is a very eye opening experience!

Only ages 16+ are allowed in the warehouse to pack the food, but there is a slot open each Friday for middle schoolers who would like to help distribute. Aurea will sign volunteer forms.

Nativity Food Bank, San Jose Mission, Dover: Every Friday from June 5-July 31 (except July 3rd & 24)
👉 7:00 AM arrival for 16+, 8:25 AM arrival for all others. Usually, volunteers finish by 10:30 AM, but the SignUpGenius says 11 AM, just in case.
