Evan's Scouting merit badge work led him to speak to the Manheim Township School Board about the benefits of installing solar on school buildings. What he began culminated in our recent celebration of the new rooftop solar array at Manheim Township Middle School. This installment consists of 1,224 solar panels that will generate renewable electricity and save taxpayer dollars by reducing the district's long-term energy costs.

When victims and families involved in the AI deepfake incident at Lancaster Country Day School approached me last year, I worked with Rep. Nikki Rivera on legislation to close the mandatory reporting loophole that allowed this tragic incident to go unreported for months. I'm proud to announce that our reporting fix made it over the finish line this week as part of Rep. Rivera's broader legislation, which will protect kids by strengthening our mandatory reporting requirements around hazing and child s*xual abuse materials.

Today, I voted for legislation that would help protect kids from explicit AI deepfakes by updating our mandatory reporting rules in Pennsylvania. I’d like to congratulate my colleague, Rep. Nikki Rivera, and thank her for working with me on this after we were approached by victims and families involved in the incident at Lancaster Country Day School.

I'm proud to help support our local municipalities and authorities in Lancaster that provide essential services like clean drinking water. On that note, I'm pleased to announce that the Elizabethtown Area Water Authority was awarded a $6,249,000 PENNVEST loan to improve two wells and help treat water for local residents. This low-interest loan funding will provide the grant-equivalent of $1,941,390 over the life of the loan.

Congratulations to Collin Splain on earning the rank of Eagle Scout! You've made Troop 53 and your family proud.

Collin's capstone community service project was refinishing the main sign at Lloyd Fuhrman Park in East Donegal Township and creating and installing a map to highlight the park's features and amenities. I applaud his work and wish him well in the next chapter.

I was pleased to welcome this fine young man and his family to the Pennsylvania Senate today to celebrate his achievement of earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

Congratulations to Collin, the Splain family, and all the folks involved in Troop 53 who helped him along the way.

I hope more young people in Lancaster take Collin’s advice and give Scouting a try!

I appreciated the opportunity to speak with residents and learn more about the challenges facing senior care facilities during my visit to Legend of Lititz today. I'm focused on listening to seniors and care providers to make sure we create and sustain the high-quality, affordable senior care Lancaster residents deserve. I look forward to taking the insights I gained from today's conversations back to my discussions in Harrisburg.
