🔊 MONTHLY OUTDOOR WARNING SIREN TEST

If you hear the outdoor warning sirens today, don’t worry, it’s only a test. As a reminder, the Town of Little Elm tests its outdoor warning sirens on the first Wednesday of each month at 1 p.m., weather permitting. No action is required during the test.

Outdoor warning sirens are designed to alert people who are outside. Residents should maintain multiple ways to receive emergency information, including Little Elm Alert.

If severe weather threatens the area, the test may be postponed or canceled.

🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🔥

Dry conditions + high temperatures = a much greater risk for fires to start and spread quickly.

While the burn ban is in place, we’re asking everyone to do their part to help prevent the next fire before it starts. Avoid open burning, use extra caution with anything that could create a spark, properly dispose of ci******es, and keep grills away from dry grass and vegetation.

A little extra caution can make a big difference. Help us keep Little Elm safe. 🚒🔥

WEATHER ADVISORY: The US National Weather Service Fort Worth Texas has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for Little Elm until 9 p.m. tonight. Temperatures could reach 110°, with heat index values between 102° and 112°. Extreme heat can be dangerous, especially for those without reliable shelter. Please:

☀️ Limit outdoor activity during the hottest hours, especially 2–7 p.m.
💧 Drink plenty of water.
🌳 Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
🏠 Check on family, friends and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for North and Central Texas through Monday evening, with high temperatures up to 110° and heat index values from 104° to 114°. Extreme heat is dangerous, especially for those without reliable shelter. Limit outdoor activity during the hottest hours (2 to 7 PM), rest in shade or air conditioning, and drink plenty of water.

After a very hot Friday afternoon, a weak cold front will bring low rain chances to locations along the Red River late Friday evening into Friday night. Isolated to widely scattered storms will shift into Central Texas during the day Saturday. Any storms that develop will be capable of brief heavy downpours and gusty winds.
