Rotary Club of Passaic Valley

One of the most gratifying aspects of being involved in Rotary is the ability to help others in need. We held our Rotary Food Drive Saturday and it turned it to be one of our most successful drives!!! All the customers showed up and donated generously! We were also able to collect a lot of cash donations to buy more groceries to stock the local food pantries. And of course our membership made their own separate donations!!

This couldn’t have been done without the support of our membership, Shop-Rite for always giving us the place to collect and the produce department in providing us the boxes to pack the goods, and to our Passaic Valley HS Interact Club for volunteering to support our efforts. We had eleven engaging, committed and active students that were very helpful. Thanks to Amaris, Kim, Christina, Kim, Mike, Megan, Arlene and Briana for standing out in the cold soliciting and collecting. Special shoutout to Bonnie, (honorary member) Bear, Megan, and Arlene that made the deliveries possible to the pantries. All the pantries were extremely grateful for our efforts this time of year when supplies are running low!!

The Passaic Valley Rotary was able to support the Great Falls' Military Assistance Pantry in providing Christmas gifts for veterans’ families during this holiday season. Thank you Debbie Flower and the rest of the pantry team in leading this effort in helping make this holiday a little brighter for their families of the service men and women that have given so much for our country. We were fortunate enough to contribute gifts for 13 families this year. Thank you Bonnie and your elf helper for managing this effort this year.

Fun time celebrating the holiday season with our PV Rotary crew. Grateful for all the good we were able to do this year in helping others. Wishing everyone a happy holiday season and a healthy new year!

Passaic Valley rotary was able to support the John P. Holland school trunk or treat again. Canceled theme was excellent and thank toy and Kim for setting it all up. And thank you to our Interact students that helped to distribute the candy! What a great night!!

Our rotary team held another food drive at Shop Rite to collect food and healthcare items for local food banks. Thanks to everyone that participated in helping to make the day a success! And special thanks for the support from the Passaic Valley HS Interact Club.

Rotary 7490 Governor John Cosgrove and Governor Aide Jack DeStefano visited at our bi-monthly meeting last week to update on all the great projects the district is undertaking and to show support to Sonia and Jan in leading this years RYLA. Great to have a supportive and caring leader.
