This morning, members of the Little Ferry Fire Department responded to assist the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department at the scene of a working fire. Our firefighters were assigned a variety of operational tasks and remained on scene until the incident was brought under control.

After returning to the Borough at approximately 9:00 AM, our members were immediately dispatched to an unrelated call for service here in Little Ferry, demonstrating their continued commitment to protecting our community.

The Little Ferry Fire Department is proudly staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year by dedicated volunteer firefighters who stand ready to answer the call—not only for our residents, but also to assist our neighboring communities whenever needed.

Today, members of the Little Ferry Fire Department had the opportunity to spend time with some of our community’s future recruits during Community Theme Week!

We were proud to answer the many great questions they had while teaching important fire safety lessons, including the importance of getting out and staying out, staying low in the event of smoke, and who to call during an emergency.

It was inspiring to hear their stories and dreams of one day becoming firefighters. Seeing their excitement and enthusiasm reminds us why community education is such an important part of what we do.

We truly love serving the residents of Little Ferry and take every opportunity we can to meet, educate, and interact with everyone who calls our town home—or even those just passing through.

A big thank you to all of the students and organizers for having us. We hope we inspired the next generation of firefighters and public servants. 🚒🔥👨‍🚒👩‍🚒

🎉 Happy 20th Birthday! 🎉

While responding to a call for service in town today, we learned that one of the residents at the home was celebrating a very special milestone—his 20th birthday! 🎂

We want to wish him a very happy birthday and many more happy, healthy years to come!

Our greatest hope is that our interactions with our residents are simply a friendly wave or hello as we pass each other around town. However, when an emergency arises—big or small—please know that we are always ready to respond and serve our community with pride.

From all of us, Happy Birthday, Sir! We hope you have a fantastic day celebrating with family and friends. 🎈🎁🚒

🚨 Public Advisory – Smoke & Haze in the Area 🚨

The Little Ferry Fire Department is aware of the smoky odor and hazy conditions currently affecting our area. These conditions are the result of smoke drifting into our region from the ongoing Canadian wildfires.

At this time, we are actively monitoring the situation and there are no known large fires within Little Ferry causing these conditions.

If you see visible smoke coming from a specific location and/or have a strong odor of burning that leads you to believe there may be an active fire, please do not hesitate to call 911 so emergency responders can investigate.

Please do not assume every smoke odor is related to the wildfires if it appears to be coming from a nearby structure, vehicle, or other specific source.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and encourage residents to stay informed. If conditions change, we will provide updates as needed.

🚒 Mutual Aid in Extreme Conditions 🚒

Our department is currently providing coverage for the Palisades Park Fire Department as they operate at the scene of a 4th Alarm Fire.

At the time of dispatch, temperatures were hovering near 0°F, making an already challenging incident even more demanding. Despite the conditions, our members stepped up without hesitation.

A dedicated crew remains available and ready to respond to any in-town alarms, ensuring continued protection for our community.
