Good morning, Little Flock!

Our new Police / City Hall building is coming, but what I’m most excited about is what we’ll be able to do with it once the doors open.

We have a lot planned to bring our officers and our community closer together: activities for our kids, community events, educational opportunities, open houses, and yes…probably a cup of coffee or two with the Chief! 😊

I want this building to represent more than a new place for our officers to work. I want our citizens to know they are welcome to stop by anytime!

This is a new chapter for the Little Flock Police Department and all of your hard working city employees, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with the community we serve.

Stay tuned, Little Flock. We have some exciting things ahead!

Have a great one & Be Safe!

–Chief Powell– ❤️ our progress!

Your “Daily Cup of Joe”

Have you ever noticed that some people could win the lottery and still complain about the taxes? 😄

Some folks can be surrounded by good and still search for something negative to say. - I’ll never understand it.

Life is too short to constantly look for something or someone to tear down.

A compliment costs nothing. Encouragement costs nothing. Kindness costs nothing. But a few simple words can completely change someone’s day.

We don’t have to agree on everything. But disagreement doesn’t require disrespect.

There’s already enough negativity in this world.

Be the person who adds something good to it.

Say something kind today. It matters more than you think.

Have a wonderful day, Little Flock!

–Chief Powell– ❤️ positive energy!

Good Monday morning, Little Flock!

Sometimes we spend too much time worrying about tomorrow, or replaying yesterday.

Today, just focus on today.

Take life one day at a time. Handle what’s in front of you, appreciate the people around you, and don’t let tomorrow’s worries steal today’s peace.

Yesterday is gone. Tomorrow will get here soon enough.

Today is the day you have, make it a good one!

Have a great Monday & be safe!

A “suspicious person / vehicle” call ended up yielding two drug charges today:

1. Poss of a controlled substance
2. Poss of drug paraphernalia

Keep up the great work guys!
Keeping our community safe!

Your Daily Cup of “Joe:”

Good People Still Exist

Yesterday, I took my motorcycle for a ride to Missouri. Along the way, I pulled onto the shoulder of the road for just a few minutes to check my phone and respond to one of my officers.

During that short time, three different people stopped to make sure I was okay and asked if I needed help. One was a state trooper, another was a gentleman in a truck, and the third was the owner of “A Bikers Garage” in Avoca.

Thankfully, I wasn’t having any trouble, but their kindness truly made an impression on me.

We hear so much about what is wrong in the world that it can be easy to overlook everything that is right. Yesterday’s ride was a wonderful reminder that Northwest Arkansas is filled with good people who still take the time to check on a stranger and lend a helping hand. (& you know I’m strange)

To each person who stopped, thank you! Your kindness did not go unnoticed.

There are still plenty of good people in this world, and I’m proud to call Northwest Arkansas our home again!

Have a wonderful day, and always be willing to stop and help someone. You may be the reminder they need that good people still exist.

Good Saturday morning!

Today, I have to take a moment to give some well-deserved kudos to our amazing police officers!

This past week has certainly been a busy one, but through all the commotion, long hours, and hard work, I received two separate compliments about two of our officers. As Chief, there aren’t many things that make me prouder than hearing positive feedback about the men and women who represent our department and our community.

And today, I personally watched as two of our day-shift officers handled the report of a missing juvenile with professionalism, urgency, compassion, and teamwork. They did everything exactly the way it should be done.

I am incredibly proud to lead a team that takes genuine pride in serving and protecting our community. Their hard work, professionalism, and dedication do not go unnoticed.

Have a fantastic weekend, Little Flock, and as always, be safe!

Good Friday morning, Little Flock!

Here’s something to think about over your morning cup of coffee…

Imagine for a moment what our communities would look like if there were no rules and no laws. Everyone simply did whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted, with no boundaries and no accountability.

It wouldn’t take long for things to become pretty chaotic.

That’s why we have laws, and that’s why we have law enforcement.

Police officers don’t make the laws. We don’t pass them. And we don’t get to pick and choose which ones we personally agree with.

Our job is to enforce them.

That responsibility is one we take seriously. But enforcing the law and treating people with respect can, and should go hand in hand.

We can be professional. We can listen. We can explain. We can show compassion and use good judgment when circumstances allow.

And most importantly, we can do our job without bias, without prejudice, and without favoritism.

You may not always agree with the law, and you may not always agree with us. That’s okay.

But you can always expect your Little Flock officers to do their very best to treat people fairly, professionally, and with respect while carrying out the responsibilities entrusted to us.

That’s how we believe law enforcement should be done.

Professional. Respectful. Firm, but Fair.

Have an amazing Friday, Little Flock!

-Chief Powell- ❤️ our community!

A quick pull from my RESET program…

“YOUR CALENDAR DEFINES YOU.”

Our calendars often reveal what and who we truly value.

We make time for work. We make time for appointments. We make time for errands, obligations, and the things we consider important.

But family should never be what we simply “fit in” when everything else is finished.

The people we love need more than our good intentions. They need our presence. They need our attention. They need to know they matter enough for us to make room for them.

Take a look at your calendar. What does it say about your priorities? Does it reflect the importance of your family, or does it show that they are receiving whatever time is left over?

We all have busy schedules, but we also have choices. Sometimes, making time for family means saying no to something else. It means putting down the phone, closing the laptop, and being fully present.

Because one day, our calendars will be empty. What will remain is how we spent our time and the memories we created with the people who mattered most.

Make sure your calendar reflects what your heart says you value!

Be safe today & don’t get the Blues! 🚔

-Chief Powell- ❤️ that family!
