Little Hocking Fire and Rescue Little Hocking Fire & Rescue Inc. With equipment acquired from area fire departments the idea became a reality.

In July 1963, a group of men from Little Hocking, Ohio decided to pursue the organizing of a fire protection service to Belpre and Decatur townships. The first station was owned by an area businessman and was a temporary home before a permanent station could be completed in 1966. Since then, an addition to the station was added and in 1983, emergency medical service was started. LHVFD currently pr

ovides Fire and EMS coverage to Belpre and Decatur townships, in addition to Water Rescue and Dive operations in the surrounding areas.

Little Hocking Fire & Rescue members with 10 or more years of service and who have retired in good standing are given retirement status. Each year on Memorial Day weekend, we honor charter members and retirees who have passed on with grave markers and firefighter flags as a way to show our appreciation for the sacrifice each member made for the Little Hocking community. We thank them for their years of selfless service.

Subject: Notice of Road Closure: RD 124 Newbury Rd – Monday, April 6th
Dear Board of Trustees,

Please be advised that RD 124 Newbury Rd will be closed to all traffic on Monday, April 6th, for the duration of the day.

This closure is necessary to facilitate the replacement of nine culverts within a specific stretch of the roadway. To assist with mapping and public notification, the work zone is defined as follows:

Northern Boundary: 230 ft North of Holdren Rd

Southern Boundary: 330 ft South of Stanley Mills Rd

Project Details
Date: Monday, April 6, 2026

Duration: Full day (approx. 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM)

Scope: Total replacement of 9 drainage culverts.

Impact: Full road closure; message boards have been placed to notifiy of the restricted access.

We will ensure that proper detour signage is in place before work begins to minimize disruption to the community. Please let me know if you have any questions or require further specifics regarding the engineering plan.
