The wind blew us inside Wednesday morning but all the participants had a great job making dinosaur impressions, dinosaur pictures using pasta, and decorating their own frisbees. The scavenger hunt kept them busy, too.

Next week's events planned for summer reading are Dinosaur Thumbprint Pictures, Painting a Dinosaur, and Creating Paper Plate Dinosaurs. The paint and ink pads are washable but you may want to send your kids in clothes that could get paint or ink on them. This will be on Wednesday, June 17.

We will have a special guest at 11:00 on Wednesday when Killian comes to share his 4-H project on the late Cretaceous period. He will do this in the library. I hope we have a good turn out of respectful listeners when he makes his presentation. I am looking forward to the story he has unearthed through his project.

Other activities starting at 10:00 and running through 11:30 will be: Pasta Paleontology, Frisbee Art, and Make a "Fossil". Sidewalk chalk will be out to enjoy.

Activities in the library, going on during the morning and also out during the week, are the Mystery Picture, a new Scavenger Hunt, a new guessing jar, and picking an egg from the dinosaur nest. You can keep the object in the egg but turn the egg back in at the desk. And of course, be sure to find some new books to read for the upcoming week.

It was a busy and exciting morning at the library as more than fifty showed up to see what story they could dig up. There were dinosaur bones, aka chocolate chips, to uncover in cookies, dinosaur paintings made, and some new dinosaurs uncovered as children designed their own dinos. Many children uncovered the answer to the riddle in the scavenger hunt. And nearly 50 books were checked out so kids can enjoy stories later. If you missed out on the fun today, you can come in on June 10, 17 and 24 for all new activities. Keep watching for next week’s adventures.
