Congratulations to our very own Dr Owoh as he has been selected as 2027 AR Superintendent of the Year!

What a surprise! Tonight, state education officials named Dr. Jeremy Owoh the 2027 Arkansas Superintendent of the Year during the JNPSD School Board meeting. This is a proud and special moment for Dr. Owoh, his family, and the entire Jacksonville North Pulaski School District. We are incredibly proud to have Dr. Owoh as our leader, and he is so deserving of this honor — and many more to come. Congratulations, Dr. Owoh! 🎉

While I was not able to present their banner myself, one of our AR Council for Military Children members, Mrs Jody Bergstrom, stepped in to showcase their moment highlighting their commitment to Military children and families.

The Purple Star School Program recognizes K-12 and post-secondary schools that demonstrate a major commitment to serving military-connected students and families from the armed forces.

As a Purple Star School, PA has a designated staff member who acts as a military liaison for families, trains faculty on meeting the emotional and academic needs of military children, and hosts events recognizing military families.

It is an honor to serve military families, and we are grateful for our parents and alumni who have bravely served to protect our freedom. 🇺🇸

Guess who is the FIRST school in the NLR School District to be recognized as a Purple Star school?

If you guessed Crestwood Elementary you would be correct!! They have worked extremely hard to meet all requirements set by AR Dept of Education and worked with our AR Council for Military Children to become officially recognized as a Purple Star School.

I was honored to speak about the unique situations our military children face, especially as they PCS during summer months, and present their banner during a staff development today.

Please congratulate Crestwood on a well deserved accomplishment.

Two parent workshops being held on 7 Aug by your installation School Liaison and MFLC. Please register using Appointment Plus, details on the sessions are below:

Ready, Set, Transition! - classes are held in the playroom at The Kenny.

Power of Connection, Enhancing the Parent and Child Connection- classes are held in the large classroom inside the library at The Kenny.

Both classes held each hour from starting at 0800 until 1400 with the exception of 1100 for lunch.

Please join us....we would love to see you there!!
