Today, we remember Dolly Parton.

Beyond the music and sparkle, Dolly was a true champion for literacy. Through her Imagination Library, she helped put millions of books into the hands of children and families around the world.

Her legacy will live on in the songs she gave us—and in every child who learned to love reading because a book showed up just for them.

Thank you, Dolly.

🚌 LRSD + Rock Region METRO = Free Rides!

Did you know LRSD students and staff can ride Rock Region Metro buses and Metro Connect for FREE? To use the service, an LRSD sticker must be visible on your LRSD student or staff ID badge.

📅 Through August 31: Red or Gold stickers are accepted.
📅 Starting September 1: Only Gold stickers will be accepted.

Central Arkansas Repair Cafe is coming to Children's Library this Saturday at 2 pm to help us fix Gizo One, our kinetic sculpture! Please come out to watch the repair happen live and learn a little bit about the art of repair!

Last week we held our second resin class, and this time we tackled custom bookmarks!

Unlike our first class (those coasters definitely gave us a run for our money 😅), everyone's project turned out AMAZING! It's so much fun watching everyone's creativity shine, and I couldn't be happier with how these came out.

Here's my bookmark! Isn't it cute?

Read and Chill is definitely my vibe.
Now that we've got a much better handle on working with resin, we just might circle back to coasters this fall.

Tuesday night's resin crafts are ready for pickup. Remember, it takes a full 72 hours for them to FULLY cure.
