Doing some research on the owners of the Griffey House from back in the 1920s. Mrs. Griffey was a very important woman in education. Here is the exerpt from "Who's Who in Little Rock 1921"

Primary Supervisor, Little Rock, Ark.
Born at Oakwood, Tenn.
Daughter of David Griffey and Louisa Frances Griffey

Graduated from L. R. High School;
attended the University of Tennessee; University of Chicago; Pestalozzi, Froebel Teachers College, Chicago.

Elected to Pulaski County Board of Education, May, 1921 elected to Board of Directors of National Educational Assn., 1921 ; was Vice-President of Arkansas Educational Assn. 1915, Treasurer 1916-17, Secretary 1918-20; State Director Junior Red Cross; organized War Savings Societies in five counties in 1918; one of organizers of Woman’s Teachers Assn, of Little Rock in 1910,and has been President eight years ; Chairman Finance Committee of L. R. Woman’s Club; member of League of Women Voters; Federated Clubs; Story Teller’s League; Y. W. C. A.; Business and Professional Women’s Club. Democrat.

The Beginning!

The Griffey House is a four-plex in the Central High Historic District. The building was originally built as one house and later made into four units. Follow along and watch as it is returned to glory and made into beautiful units for future generations to enjoy.
