To improve communication and provide timely access to critical information, including wildfire updates, the Forestry Division will begin sharing all announcements through the main Arkansas Department of Agriculture page starting August 14, 2025.

This change will allow for a more unified experience and ensure that forestry-related news, alerts, and initiatives are easier to find and follow.

We encourage all stakeholders, partners, and community members to follow the facebook.com/ARDeptAg to stay informed.

Thank you for your continued commitment to Arkansas’s forests and natural resources!

The 2025 Arkansas River Valley Wildland Fire Academy, held earlier this month at Arkansas Tech University, welcomed 843 students representing 30 agencies from 29 states.

This year’s academy offered 23 National Wildfire Coordinating Group courses, an EMT refresher, and Wildland Fire Decision Support System training — all led by experienced instructors from state and federal agencies, with valuable support from ATU staff.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to another successful year of high-quality wildland fire training.

This week, our fire training officers are leading a hands-on bulldozer training at Camp Robinson. Bulldozers are a critical tool in wildland firefighting used to clear vegetation and create firelines to slow the spread of wildfire.

We’re proud to work with our state and federal partners to provide this essential training, strengthening our collective ability to respond to wildfires and protect communities across Arkansas.
