Today we introduce Holley Sheals for today's Farmer Friday!

Holley is a graduate student at Arkansas State University. She currently works on the college farm where she does research on winter hair coat shedding in cattle. She got involved with agriculture through school and taking classes.

"I joined ACLC to make connections that will last and learn how to be a better cattlemen," Sheals said.

Her favorite part about being a member of ACA is that everyone has the same common interests and learning how to advocate for agriculture properly.

New World Screwworm has been confirmed in a calf in South Texas, marking the first U.S. case during the current outbreak.

The good news: the U.S. beef supply remains safe. NWS is an animal health issue, not a food safety issue.

Arkansas producers should stay vigilant, monitor livestock for unusual wounds or signs of infestation, and contact their veterinarian with any concerns.

Most importantly, rely on trusted sources and avoid misinformation. We’ll continue sharing updates as more information becomes available.

Meet Clint Young for this week's farmer Friday!

Clint is a cow/calf producer in Little River County. His involvement in agriculture began in high school.

"Being the former vice president and now current president of the Little River Cattlemen's, I felt attending this leadership course would help in forming me to be a better leader within my county organization. That's why I joined ACLC," Young Said.

His favorite part about ACA are the people at the county and state level are down to earth, genuinely amazing people who are always willing to help out their fellow neighbor.
