πŸš’πŸŒ‰ Last week, AWC had the amazing opportunity to coordinate an exclusive boat tour of River Valley MKARNS infrastructure and future sites with Congressional delegation staff members and THUD Appropriations Subcommittee staff. We explored incredible infrastructure like the Van Buren Railroad Bridge, Five Rivers Distribution, future slackwater harbor site, James W. Trimble Lock & Dam #13, future I-49 southbound extension river bridge site, and the Fort Chaffee river crossing operations training site. πŸŒ‰πŸš’πŸ™ŒπŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ We owe a huge thank you to Justin Copher and Copher Boat Sales, State Senator Justin Boyd, State Representative Zack Gramlich, City of Fort Smith Deputy Administrator Jeff Dingman, AWC Chair Marty Shell, USACE Little Rock District Chief of Public Affairs Jay Townsend, and the USACE Little Rock District staff at Trimble Lock & Dam for their hard work and assistance in making this trip an unforgettable experience for all (and not just because of the summer weather). β˜€οΈπŸŒŠ

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Senator Jim Inhofe. A true patriot and a stalwart of Oklahoma politics for over six decades, Senator Inhofe served in the U.S. House, the Senate, and as Mayor of Tulsa.

He was a champion of inland waterways and infrastructure, leading the Environment and Public Works Committee and securing vital funding across administrations. His bipartisan efforts ensured the success of projects like the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System (MKARNS), benefiting both Oklahoma and Arkansas.

Senator Inhofe's servant's heart and visionary spirit positioned Oklahoma and Arkansas as global contenders. His unwavering dedication and leadership will continue to inspire future generations.

Rest in peace, Senator Inhofe. Your legacy lives on. 🌟 πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ
