Starting the School Year Off Right!

At Pulaski County Youth Services, preparing young people for success means making sure they have the resources, support, and opportunities they need to begin the school year with confidence!

This year, we were proud to provide backpacks filled with school supplies to all of our Little Scholars summer program participants, NexGen students, helping ensure they returned to the classroom prepared and ready to learn.

We are also incredibly grateful for the community partnerships that helped us extend our reach this back-to-school season. PCYS was proud to partner with the Pi Omicron Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Center for Healing Hearts, and New Hope Baptist Church in efforts to support students and families throughout Pulaski County.

Our team also participated in the Back to School Drive at Southwest High School, where we had an opportunity to connect with students and families, share resources, and promote the exciting programs and opportunities PCYS will offer throughout the upcoming academic school year.

Strong communities are built through strong partnerships, and we are thankful for every organization, community partner, staff member, and volunteer who continues to invest in our young people.

We’re excited about the year ahead and look forward to continuing to create opportunities for our youth to learn, grow, lead, and succeed!

πŸŽ‰ Congratulations to our very own Celeste Wilson on being named the 2025–2026 Academy Ambassador of the Year!

Your PCYS family is incredibly proud of you and this well-deserved accomplishment. Keep shining, Celeste! πŸŒŸπŸ‘πŸ½

πŸ—£οΈβœ¨ Young Voices. Real Solutions. Lasting Impact. βœ¨πŸ—£οΈ

What an incredible day at the Pulaski County Teen Summit! This dynamic micro-summit united passionate young leaders from across our community around one powerful truth: your voice matters!

Throughout the day, students stepped into the role of advocates, discovering that leadership is not defined by age but by the courage to speak up and take action. They learned how to turn concerns into solutions and ideas into impact.

Working in teams, participants tackled critical issues affecting their communities, including affordable housing, gun violence, and teen mental health. They didn't just discuss challenges; they developed action-driven advocacy campaigns designed to spark meaningful change. Through collaboration, innovation, and determination, these young leaders presented powerful solutions that demonstrated their commitment to strengthening schools, neighborhoods, and communities throughout Arkansas.

Today’s youth are not waiting for change; they are leading it. Their passion, creativity, and willingness to engage in difficult conversations inspired everyone in the room and proved that the next generation is ready to make a lasting difference.

A special thank you to Teen Health Arkansas for partnering with Pulaski County Youth Services to make this transformative event possible. Together, we are equipping young people with the tools, confidence, and opportunities they need to become effective leaders and advocates.

When young people find their voice, communities grow stronger. Together, we are empowering youth to engage, advocate, lead, and create lasting impact.
