We were incredibly honored to witness one of our amazing community partners, Crain Ford of Little Rock receive the 2025 Ford President’s Award, a prestigious national recognition honoring dealerships that deliver exceptional customer service and satisfaction in both sales and service.

This recognition is so well deserved — not only because of their excellence in business, but because of the heart they continuously pour back into our community.

Through our partnership together, they have helped raise nearly $80,000 to support the mission of Children’s Protection Center and the trauma-informed services provided to abused and neglected children in our community.

What makes this partnership so special is that their impact goes far beyond the sale of a car. They consistently show what it means to invest in people, support local causes, and stand beside organizations working to create safer futures for children and families.

We are deeply grateful for their generosity, leadership, and commitment to making a difference. Congratulations on this incredible and well-earned honor — we are proud to celebrate alongside you! 💙

Earlier, we shared the handwritten “wash your hands” reminder one of our kiddos proudly made to help keep everyone safe and healthy.

Today, we found another note from that same sweet heart — and honestly, it stopped us in our tracks. 💙

1️⃣ Be nice
2️⃣ Be kind
3️⃣ Do not be mean
4️⃣ Be great

Simple words. Big meaning.

These little reminders are proof that the environment we create matters.

When children feel safe, respected, heard, and cared for, they begin to reflect those same values back into the world around them.

Healing doesn’t always happen in loud or obvious ways — sometimes it shows up in handwritten signs taped to a wall, reminding all of us how to treat one another.

The works every day to make sure kiddos involved in child abuse allegations have a space where compassion, kindness, and safety are more than words — they are something they can feel.

And sometimes, the children remind us that they’re listening all along. 💙

Sometimes healing looks like paint-covered hands, big smiles, and a moment to simply be a kid again. 💙

At our center, moments like these matter more than words can express. After a child may have shared some of the hardest and most heartbreaking details of their young life, activities like handprint art give them the opportunity to breathe, create, laugh, and reclaim a piece of childhood that trauma tries to steal.

Our incredible staff work intentionally to create a safe, compassionate, and trauma-informed environment where children are reminded that they are more than what happened to them.

These special canvasses will soon be framed and presented to the top fundraising teams at the upcoming River Cities Dragon Boat Festival — serving as a powerful reminder of exactly what every dollar raised means to a child receiving services at our center.

Every paddle stroke. Every donation. Every sponsorship. Every supporter.

It all helps provide hope, healing, and moments where a child gets to just be a kid again.

BIG NEWS!

For the very first time ever, we are SPP's Charity of the Month for the entire month of June — and we could not be more grateful for this incredible partnership!💙

Not only is SPP raising funds all month long to support the kiddos and families we serve, but they’re also bringing the energy to the water with a collaborative team of paddlers competing in the upcoming River Cities Dragon Boat Festival, which proceeds also benefit our center!

Partnerships like this mean more than ever right now.

With looming funding uncertainties impacting nonprofits across our community — including many of the partners and colleagues who traditionally support this event with teams and sponsorships but are now carefully watching budgets — support from community-minded organizations like SPP helps ensure we can continue moving forward without slowing down.

Together, we’re paddling toward our $300,000 goal to provide FREE expert, trauma-informed services to abused and neglected children in Pulaski County involved in child abuse allegations.

We are so thankful for organizations willing to step up, rally their teams, and invest in hope and healing for children who need it most. 💙

Thank you, SPP, for believing in our mission, showing up for kids, and helping us make waves in our community!

Important Office Business!

One of our very own kiddos has officially joined Team “Safety & Cleanliness” and made sure everyone received this very important reminder after using our restroom… wash those hands!

Complete with a handwritten sign and a mission to help Ms. Gigi keep things safe and sparkling, this little act gave us all a reason to smile!

But beyond the humor and sweetness, it reminded us of something incredibly meaningful.

When children feel safe, respected, and comfortable, they begin to use their voices again. Sometimes that looks like sharing feelings. Sometimes it looks like laughter and play. And sometimes… it looks like proudly taking on “official office duties.” 💙

At our center, we want every child and family who walks through our doors to feel like they belong in one of the safest, most compassionate spaces possible — a place where they are heard, valued, and free to simply be kids again.

And honestly? We think Ms. Gigi may have some competition for Staff Member of the Month. 💙

Every child deserves to feel safe, loved, and protected. 💙

Recognizing the signs of child abuse can help save a child’s life. Some warning signs may include:
• Unexplained bruises or injuries
• Sudden changes in behavior or mood
• Fear of going home or being around certain individuals
• Poor hygiene or lack of supervision
• Extreme withdrawal, anxiety, or aggression

If you suspect abuse or neglect, trust your instincts and report it. You do not need proof to make a report — just reasonable concern.

Call the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-482-5964.

Together, we can help protect children and provide hope, healing, and support to families in our community.

Share this post to help spread awareness because one call can change a child’s future.

The school year is ending and families are planning their summer advertures, including camps and programs. Experiences kids have at camp can last a lifetime, good or ill.

As you’re planning your child’s summer camp experiences, this is a good reminder for parents and advocates to look into policies to ensure your kiddo is protected from any kind of abuse.

National Children's Alliance previously shared the American Camp Association's child abuse prevention policies, and these are still a good start to ensuring a safe experience at camp.

Check in with your camp or other youth-serving organizations about whether their policies meet these standards, and ask them to explain how their policies and procedures are followed and enforced: https://bit.ly/4dxH6wt.

Today, our offices are closed in observance of Memorial Day as we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

While our offices are closed, child abuse does not take a holiday.

If you suspect a child is being abused or neglected, please call the Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-482-5964.

Together, we can continue to protect and provide hope and healing for children who need us most.
