Arts on Main partnered with Every Child Arkansas to host a community event that brought together foster families, child welfare professionals, community organizations, and individuals interested in learning more about foster care.

The event was intentionally designed to create a welcoming environment where participants could connect, ask questions, and learn from one another while working together on a collaborative Lego-building project.

Led by Lacey Hendrix, Director of Development at Arts on Main, and Andrew Ramsey of Every Child Arkansas, the event was supported by a network of partners including DCFS, Connected Families, The CALL in Crawford & Sebastian Counties, and Family Ministries Foster Care of Arkansas, all working together to create a space for connection, learning, and action.

Today's meeting of the 100 Families Initiative of Garland County recognized the important role that fathers, mentors, coaches, faith leaders, and other positive male role models play in helping individuals and families thrive.

Behind every successful reunification is a network of support, accountability, and people willing to walk alongside families through the challenges.

As one panelist shared, there is no replacement for a child’s biological parent. When families are given the support and encouragement they need to overcome obstacles, children, parents, and communities are stronger for it.

After years of dedicated service to the Sebastian County Opioid Task Force, last week's meeting marked Hobe's final one as Board Chair. Following his retirement from the Sheriff's Office, he is also retiring from the Task Force Board.

Since the coalition's beginning in February 2018, Hobe, alongside Pat and Zena, has been instrumental in building and sustaining this community effort. His leadership, commitment, and belief in collaboration helped shape the Task Force into what it is today.

Earlier this year, Hobe was recognized with the Sebastian County Opioid Task Force Community Champion Award—a fitting tribute to the lasting impact he has made on our community.

Thank you, Hobe, for your years of service, leadership, and dedication to helping individuals and families affected by substance use. Your legacy will continue to be felt for years to come.

No single organization can solve a community's biggest challenges alone. But together, we can create a stronger, more connected system of care where every individual and family has the opportunity to flourish.

At the Human Flourishing Initiative of Knox County Collective Impact Meeting, community partners came together to envision helping neighbors move from crisis to flourishing. Through collaboration, shared accountability, and a true "no wrong door" approach to support, Knox County is building pathways that connect families to the resources, relationships, and opportunities they need to succeed.
