Today was filled with excitement, energy, laughter, and a whole LOT of Snow Leopard spirit! 💛💚🧡💜House Sort is truly one of our favorite days of the year as we welcome our new students into the Gibbs family and officially kick off another year of HOUSE pride!

Our houses represent Service. Peace. Grace. Kindness. And today, we set the stage for a year of living those values, serving others, growing together, and—of course—a little friendly competition along the way!

Mrs. Garrett’s class received a real world introduction to their class nation of Egypt today with 2 visitors from Egypt! 🇪🇬 They were our first of many international visitors of the year! Thank you Rotary Club for helping us bring the world to our global learners! 🌍💙💚

Our first days of school are off to an AMAZING start! From big smiles and new friendships to learning, exploring, and settling into our routines, our Snow Leopards are already showing us what a great year this is going to be.

We may be a day late posting these first-day pictures… but we promise, it was because we were having such a great time and not because we were too exhausted! 😂📸

Special shoutout to our friends the Alpha Phi Alpha Pi Lambda Chapter, City of Little Rock, AR - Government Fire Department and Rock Region METRO for giving our students such an exciting welcome back to school!

In just 7 days, our classrooms will be buzzing, our hallways will be full of smiles, and a brand-new school year will begin. We can't wait to welcome our students, families, and staff back for another incredible year in LRSD!

This year at Gibbs, our theme is ”I Am a Friend of the Earth,”and one of the most meaningful ways to live that theme is by building connections across cultures.

Did you know our very own Spanish teacher, Sra. Robertson, also serves as a local coordinator for United Studies Exchange Students? She is looking for caring families willing to host an international high school student for a semester or a school year.

Hosting an exchange student is more than providing a place to stay. It is:
-Promoting understanding between cultures
- Practicing kindness, empathy, and inclusion
-Learning about another language and way of life
-Showing that friendship knows no borders

Our school theme reminds us that caring for our world also means caring for the people who share it. By welcoming someone from another country, you’re helping create a more peaceful, connected, and compassionate world, one friendship at a time.

Ms. Jones and Mrs. Garrett (formerly known as Ms. Williams) are making the move to the intermediate hallway as our 3rd grade team! 🎉 We’re so excited to see all the amazing things they’ll do with our third graders this year.
