Stewpot Receives Grant

Thnks to the AR Foodbank Capacity Grant, Stewpot was able to purchase a “double wide” freezer. This addition was greatly needed since we gave up several freezers before moving to the Salvation Army building.

Now we can take full advantage of Foodbank items which are seldom offered such as lunch meat or chicken. Storing food safely has always been a priority for us.

Grants enable Stewpot to purchase needed items without cutting into our food budget.

Stewpot Manager
Part-time (16 hrs/week), Salaried $20,000–$24,000

Stewpot soup kitchen in Little Rock (www.stewpotlr.org) is seeking a dedicated Manager to oversee daily operations, staff, volunteers, and community engagement. This role includes supervising day-to-day meal service, ensuring kitchen compliance, managing volunteers, handling financial reporting with the Treasurer, coordinating with the Arkansas Foodbank Network, Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance, etc. and building community partnerships. The Manager also represents Stewpot publicly, writes donor/volunteer communications, and recommends program improvements to the Board. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Provide direct supervision to the Stewpot Day Manager and Assistant Manager.
- Recommend salary adjustments as needed..
- Oversee volunteer team captains and volunteers, ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Designate individuals for responsibilities as needed, including meal preparation and kitchen oversight.

Plus Program Management, Financial Oversight & Compliance, Community & Public Relations

Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with ordering food and supplies.
- Purchase bus passes for clients as needed.
- Make recommendations to the Board regarding program improvements and operations.

Qualifications
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with volunteers, staff, and community partners.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in program or nonprofit management preferred.
- Commitment to the mission and values of the Stewpot program.
