dential treatment facility for youth ages 12 to 17. Our program addresses each child's entire wellbeing: including medical, psychiatric, social, physical, and academic needs. We accept TRICARE® East, TRICARE® West, CHAMPVA, and Medicaid. We have relied on the donations of our local supporters since 1966, and continue to do so today! Our friends at Jumpstart Mastery made another trip to Youth Home to continue helping our staff strengthen their de-escalation skills!

They visited us last month to share techniques for responding to teens in crisis by building trust and showing empathy. This time, they taught a group of our staff how to share those same skills with their colleagues.

This Train-the-Trainer session will pave the way for our staff to pass their knowledge on to the rest of the team, helping ensure that challenging situations can be met with trauma-informed care, understanding and intention.

Congratulations to our Recreation Director, Shelly Zellner, on being named the Arkansas Council for Behavioral Health’s Practitioner of the Year!

Shelly has been with Youth Home for more than three decades, showing teens that it’s possible to still have fun while healing. Her passion for Youth Home’s mission and the youth we serve shines through every day. She often describes her job as “getting to play for a living,” and anyone who knows her can see just how much she truly loves what she does.

This recognition is very much deserved! We’re so grateful for the dedication, joy and care Shelly brings to Youth Home and to the young people we serve. 💚
