Little Rock Zoo is home to Angolan Colobus monkeys. These agile climbers use their long hair as a parachute to help them leap from branch to branch in the forest canopy. They are monkeys – and one of the easiest ways to tell is because they have a tail! Monkeys typically have long tails, while apes, like chimpanzees and gorillas, do not have tails.

Fun Fact: Unlike most primates, colobus monkeys lack true thumbs, which helps them swing through trees more efficiently.
