We’re SO honored to announce Gail Call as the recipient of this year’s Philanthropy Award!

Gail’s connection to Goodness Village began in 2016, when Gail and her late husband, Gene, came to Little Rock for his treatment and stayed with us when we were still known as Home Away From Home.

What began as a place to rest during a difficult season became a relationship that has lasted nearly a decade. Gail has continued to generously support Goodness Village, helping make sure other families can find the same comfort and care that meant so much to Gail and Gene.

In Gail’s words, “We were so blessed to be able to have an apartment on most of our treatment trips when he wasn’t in the hospital. My husband was able to rest comfortably, and we both enjoyed meeting Kim and the staff and appreciated their helpfulness while we were there."

We’re incredibly grateful for the way Gail has turned gratitude into generosity and continued to care for the families who have come after her.

We can’t wait to honor Gail Call at our Evening of Goodness on September 17. Gail, thank you for being such a special part of our Village.

Our Village is growing and so is our Board!

We’re SO excited to welcome Alan Abston, CPA, and Dalton Janssen, PhD, RN, to the Goodness Village Board of Directors!

Alan brings more than 35 years of accounting, leadership, and strategic experience, along with a deep love for Arkansas and giving back to the community.

Dalton brings more than a decade of pediatric clinical and research experience, beginning his career as a NICU nurse and continuing today through his work supporting pediatric research.

Both also bring something we value deeply: a heart for families.

Alan shared, “I see Goodness Village giving that gift to people when they need it most.”

And Dalton said, “I have seen the difference environment can make in the healing process.”

We’re grateful to have Alan and Dalton bring their experience, perspective, and hearts for service to Goodness Village and we can’t wait to see what’s ahead!

Help us give them a big Village welcome!

We were honored to receive a $5,000 donation from the Simmons Bank Championship, presented by Tournament Director Michael Cataldo, as part of their commitment to giving back to our community!

Afterward, Michael joined us for a tour of a Goodness Village apartment, giving us the chance to show firsthand how support like this helps provide a home away from home for families traveling to Little Rock for medical care.

Access to medical care is about more than getting an appointment.

For some families, specialized care means traveling hundreds or even thousands of miles from home. And while incredible medical care happens inside the hospitals here in Little Rock, there’s another part of the journey that happens beyond those walls.

Our newest blog explores specialized medical care in Little Rock, what access really requires for families, and the role healthcare hospitality plays along the way.
