It's time to highlight another K-9 team!

K-9 Tucker and his partner, Game Warden Destiny Woods are assigned to Perry County in the B-2 District. When he's not on duty Tucker enjoys playing in the creek at the back of his handler's property.

Poaching is a crime that crosses state lines. 🚫🦃

Following an anonymous tip and a month-long investigation, an Arkansas Game Warden uncovered a multi-state violation. The subject killed this turkey in Oklahoma a month before their season began and hauled it home to Arkansas. The subject now faces pending citations in both states. Great teamwork between AR and OK wardens to protect our resources! State lines don't hide poaching.

While the investigation is still ongoing, the anonymous hotline tip was critical to initiating this case. If you see something, say something.

Today we take time to honor the life and memory of Wildlife Officer 1st Class Joel Campora.

On the evening of May 31st, 2013 around 9:00 PM, 911 calls began in the area of Y city, AR. There was massive flash flooding and one of the 911 calls received was of two females trapped within a home. WLOFC. Campora and Scott County Sheriff Cody Carpenter responded to the area, and without hesitation launched a boat, in an attempt for a swift water rescue . After making their way toward the home, WLOFC. Campora and Sheriff Carpenter approached the house from the downstream direction in an attempt to rescue the trapped victims. Tragically during the flow of the flood waters, the home collapsed. The series of dreadful events claimed the lives of of the occupants of the house, as well as Sheriff Carpenter, and WLOFC. Campora.

WLOFC Campora had served with the AGFC for 5 years, being stationed in Scott County in District A-2. His dedication to serving the citizens of Arkansas will not be forgotten. In honor of Joel, every year, the AGFC Enforcement Cadet class votes for one cadet to receive the Joel Campora Memorial Outstanding Achievement Award.

We are forever grateful for Officer Campora's service and ultimate sacrifice.

E-1-26 Week 3

The cadets of class E-1-26 continue to make steady progress through their academy training.

This week, cadets began learning the foundational principles of officer combat tactics, building skills and confidence necessary to safely handle a variety of law enforcement encounters. They also continued their water survival training, developing critical skills that will keep them safe while patrolling the state's many diverse waterways.

In the classroom, cadets received instruction on warrant procedures, Hunter Education and Boating Education Instructor courses, and participated in CPR and First Aid training.

Each week brings new challenges and opportunities as these future Game Wardens continue preparing to serve the citizens and natural resources of Arkansas.

CAREER DAY!

B-2 District Sergeant Channing Sanders and K-9 Coordinator Corporal Landon Mills along with K-9 Zoey attended the Joe T. Robinson Middle School Career Day in Pulaski County.

Students had the opportunity to learn more about the role of Arkansas Game Wardens, conservation law enforcement, and the important work our K-9 teams perform across the state. Events like these provide a great opportunity to connect with students, answer questions, and inspire future conservation officers.

Last week, Arkansas Game Wardens from across the state participated in multiple legs of the 2026 Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics — passing along the Flame of Hope to raise awareness and funds for the Special Olympics.

This Memorial Day, your Arkansas Game Wardens pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

As we patrol the beauty of the Natural State - from the Ozarks to the Delta - we are constantly reminded that the freedom to enjoy our woods and waters was bought with a heavy price. Today, we remember their courage, their service, and their legacy.

Checking in for Week 2 of the E-1-26 AGFC Cadet School ✅

This week, AGFC cadets spent time in the classroom learning about domestic and child abuse situations — how to recognize warning signs, how to provide support to victims, and how to respond to these situations and handle them with compassion.

During water survival training, cadets worked on building their confidence in the water and practiced swimming with their duty belts on. This training teaches cadets how to maintain their composure in demanding, high-stress situations.

Every lesson is designed to prepare these future Game Wardens to serve Arkansas citizens with Honor, Integrity, Pride, and Professionalism.

As we honor our heroes this weekend, let's keep the holiday safe for everyone on the water by choosing to ALWAYS BOAT SOBER.

🚤Engine Cut-Off Switch (ECOS) Use Matters! ⚓

Using an ECOS is critical for safety, as it automatically stops the engine if the operator is thrown from the helm or falls overboard. Without an ECOS, a boat will continue at its last throttle setting, often circling out of control.

Stay safe by always attaching your ECOS to yourself, your clothing, or your PFD. It's a simple step that can prevent a serious accident.
