Since this week is National EMS Week, the Little Rock EMS gave a children’s program at the library.
Mariah, Little Rock EMS, gave the presentation.
She first read a cute book about Ambulances. Next she told the kids what the people on the EMS do and showed us different equipment, which the kids thought was really cool!
Then she showed them how they take blood pressure with their new machine. They also got to listen to each others heart and lungs with a stethoscope.
Mariah talked about different ways the EMS helps people.
Mariah is a Registered Nurse on the EMS.
Lastly, they got to go look at the ambulance and sit inside it, which was also super fun!
Thank you to the Little Rock EMS and to Mariah for giving this great kids’ program!

We enjoyed a song that Tom Harris sang for us at the “Neck Tie Presentation” he gave on Thursday, May 14 at our Senior Coffee. Tom and his wife Madeline were in a Christian Bluegrass Band some years back.

April Senior Coffee ☕️
We had a very interesting Program Presentation for our April Senior Coffee on Thursday, May 14!
Tom Harris of Little Rock, gave a presentation on all of the neck ties he has collected throughout the years. He stated that he had started collecting ties in 1995. He doesn’t just collect them, but also wears them. At one time he had over 300 ties, but has given quite a few of them away. He now has approximately 180 neck ties.
Every neck tie of Tom’s has a story.
Pictured below are Tom and his wife Madeline wearing a favorite tie or two or three. 😊 Check out the ties in the pics below.
Tom also owns and operates Tom’s Leather Shop in Little Rock. He presented Virginia Klaassen with a beautiful wallet he had made for her, thanking her for her years of service and all she has done and still does for the Little Rock Free Lance and the community.
Thank you Tom and Madeline for bringing these fun and fancy ties to the library for our program! It was fun and interesting to hear all of the stories behind the ties!
