When May Truxal joined Little Silver EMS, she brought years of experience as a registered nurse and nurse practitioner. But EMS gave her something new: the opportunity to serve her community in a different way.

Inspired to volunteer after 9/11, May found more than emergency care. She found teamwork, lifelong friendships, and the opportunity to mentor future EMTs.

Little Silver is surrounded by waterways and low lying areas that flood. Your EMS squad is ready for any water emergency.

Our members recently joined the Little Silver Fire Company for a water rescue drill on the Shrewsbury River, working side by side to strengthen our coordinated response to water emergencies.

During the exercise, our volunteers were prepared to provide assistance to firefighters if needed, while gaining a better understanding of the rescue process. These joint trainings help both teams improve communication, reinforce each other's roles, and ensure we're ready to respond when every second counts.

Whether it's on the streets, the river, or our tidal creeks, this kind of preparation help keep our community safe.
