The property of Duane and Karyn Fox on Fair Oak Street always looks neat and well taken care of, but, in the summer it shines! The couple, who gardens together, say that after being couped up during the long dreary winter, they love to spend their time outdoors enjoying the summer colors as much as they can. The front of the property has a simple, but very colorful container garden with more planters and hanging baskets tastefully adorning the the front porch. In the back of the sideyard you'll see a pretty screened in pavilion, that Duane built himself, where they spend a lot of time relaxing and enjoying the warm weather, the summer colors and the soothing sound of the fountain that was given to them by a friend. Duane also built the bench with planters that they filled with brightly colored annuals, contributing to the overall curb appeal of the home as well as their enjoyment of our Western NY summers and into the fall. Thank you both for all you do to create a curb appeal to be proud of and for all who pass by to enjoy!

Another corner lot in the village that has delightful curb appeal is the patriotic and picturesque home of Chris and Samantha Hoch. The couple who moved here in 2025, said one of the things that attracted them to this property was its graceful wrap-around porch. They allow the classic beauty of the house shine by keeping a well manicured lawn with simple, uniform perennials and hanging baskets all the way around the porch. Patriotic buntings and flags representing the US Army are the perfect finishing touch. The inviting seating arrangements on the porch help give the whole property a warm, small town America feel. Chris, who is a US Army veteran, says he's very particular about his lawn; we all agree, it shows! If you've ever noticed how nice the lawn around the C.A.M.P building looks, that's because Chris mows that lawn as well! The couple has a lovely memorial in honor of his father, aunt and grandmother which they have set in its own simple garden on the side yard. Thank you Chris for your service to our country and now to our community! Thank you Chris and Samantha for doing such a fabulous job of bringing beautiful curb appeal to our village!

The beautiful curb appeal at the home of Andy and Kelly Trehune on Fair Oak Street is a joint effort. Kelly has quite a green thumb as can be seen by her well planned perennial garden along the front of the yard and her stunning hydrangea bushes in front of the house. Along the side are 2 Rose of Sharon trees in full bloom. Kelly tells us that although they are done blooming for this season, the gladiolas were given to her several years ago by her brother in-law and they continue to bloom brightly each summer. Andy takes great pride in his wife's work as well as the lawn which is his main focus. Earlier this summer Andy dug up the lawn and reseeded the whole thing! The result is this lush, w**d free green lawn that looks amazing! Andy was concerned that a lot of their flowers were past their peak, but we assured them that we have been admiring their gorgeous curb appeal all summer long! Thank you for all the hard work and dedication you both put in to creating such a beautiful setting for all to enjoy!

Some of you may remember years ago Mary Bailey had the most spectacular perennial gardens. However, since overcoming some serious health issues 15 years ago, she has taken a new approach and we think it looks absolutely gorgeous! Mary has a passion for flowers and a real knack for creating these incredible planters which are placed beautifully around her property. The immaculately kept lawn and her colorful creations definitely give that "Wow factor" when it comes to curb appeal at this home. Thank you, Mary for your hard work and dedication and bringing the beauty to Little Valley!!

Members of the LV Beautification Committee along with an honorary member, came together to support the Community Days at the Field House August 22nd.

Each member purchased and donated 2 beautiful flower baskets for the “Bingo for plants” activity. Community members had a wonderful time playing bingo and winning the donated plants.

It was a fun, successful and community spirited event! A big thank you to everyone who donated, participated and helped make the day special.

If you travel down 9th or Erie St, you can't help but notice "that house on the corner with all the colorful flowers!" That is how many describe the lovely home of Todd and Shannon Palmatier. Shannon's passion for gardening and her talent for decorating can be seen from both streets. The yard bursts with color as annuals and perennials are mixed together in various gardens around the property. Their patriotism shines as well with American flags, buntings and decor proudly displayed throughout. It takes a lot of hard work to maintain such a manicured look in an area this large, with this many gardens and lawn to care for! Thank you for sharing your talents with the community and creating such beautiful curb appeal!

Restaurant owners, Barry and Brandy Starks have been busy adding curb appeal to the center of the village! In 2025 they installed LED lights which can be changed to celebrate any season or event. Maybe you saw the red, white & blue proudly displayed over the 4th of July weekend. This summer, Brandy built these lovely window boxes herself! She has them filled with colorful annuals and said she plans to change the boxes with each season. Great job, Bear Brick and thank you! We love what you're doing to beautify the village!

Curb Appeal: Definition- "How attractive a home or property looks when seen from the street. It's the 1st impression a property makes on people walking or driving by."

The Beautification Committee knows it takes hard work and plenty of time to create and maintain Curb Appeal. So we thought it would be fun to recognize some of the properties in the village that have turned our heads this summer. We'll be posting several Curb Appeal Spotlights over the next couple of weeks and from time to time in the future to let you know we see your hard work and thank you for bringing Curb Appeal to our village!!
