Summer Reading week 2 was all about Herpetology! πΈππ’ π¦
Our younger kiddos learned what the differences were between Reptiles & Amphibians, then split into groups to make Pop-up Dinosaur Egg crafts & Adopt-a-Dinosaur by hatching their own dino egg!π₯π¦
Messes were made, but dinos were adopted, named & left to their new, loving homes! β€οΈ Our volunteer, Miss Brandi, read some books to them about different insects & critters before Mr. Charles led them in a game of "Dino Says" to get allllll the wiggles out before our friends from the Science Spectrum introduced us to some fun Reptiles & Amphibians!
After meeting these scaly, slimey & slithery friends we started off our older kiddos with their educational videos to learn more in-depth about Herpetology. π¦π’ππΈ
They made their own jumping frog crafts, beaded snake pals & painted the pinch pots we made last week before wrapping up with a dice-roll, dino race where the winners Adopt-a-Dinosaur as well! π¦π¦
Everyone left with a new dinosaur friend & snacks generously donated by HEB! It's fun to learn about Reptiles & Amphibians!! π’πΈππ¦
