We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming some new friends from the Shelby's Bridge Sunshine Social Club to the Lamb County Courthouse yesterday! ☀️

Our friends came to learn a little more about what happens inside the courthouse, what our elected officials and offices do, and—most importantly—to meet some of the people who are here to help when members of our community need us.

Mr. Rogers famously said, “Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.” We love that sentiment. There is value in making sure people not only know helpers are out there, but also know who they are and where to find them.

Being involved in our community means being involved with all of our community. Our courthouse belongs to the people we serve, and everyone should have the opportunity to learn about it, ask questions, meet the people who work here, and feel welcome walking through its doors.

We had such a good time visiting, answering questions, and showing our guests around. Thank you to Shelby’s Bridge for spending part of your day with us—and for giving us the opportunity to make some new friends! 💙☀️

A Lamb County jury found Anthony Bernard Wiley guilty of Injury to an Elderly Individual with Intent to Cause Bodily Injury for a violent assault that occurred at the Texas Civil Commitment Center in January 2025. Following the guilty verdict, the jury assessed Wiley's punishment at 50 years' confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

This case reflects our continued commitment to ensuring that violent crimes committed within our county are investigated thoroughly, prosecuted fairly, and that those responsible are held accountable through our justice system.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Lamb County Sheriff's Office, the Texas Special Prosecution Unit, Management & Training Corporation, and the citizens of Lamb County who served on this jury for their professionalism, dedication, and service throughout this case.
