The time is inching closer for slip renewals, and I thought I would make a handy FAQ for any NEW customers interested in 2022 seasonal slips. This will also be made available or our website and updated as needed:
Q: What day can we sign up for 2022 slips?
A: October 1! The seasonal wait list for next year will RESET on this date. Even if you were previously on the 2021 wait list, you must come down IN PERSON to reconfirm your status on the wait list for the following year. We open at 9am, but I strongly recommend getting to the marina *in person* earlier than that, as last year we started the morning off with 40-50+ people in line.
Q: What is the deposit for being placed on the wait list?
A: $700, cash or check only (preferably check). We do not cash any checks until November, when I know for certain how many openings I have for the following season. I will not cash your check until you have a slip.
Q: What will the cost be for a full season?
A: I haven't finalized our prices this year, but I am working on it. A standard double will be in the range of $3700 for our 7 month season, and the $700 deposit will go towards this final amount.
Q: I would like a single or electric slip! How do I request this?
A: There is never any harm in requesting a single or electric slip, but we only pull for speciality sized slips from our current pool of returning slip renters, and availability is extremely limited. You will likely only qualify for a 24' double slip (which can accommodate a boat up to around 9'-9.25' in width) as a new customer.
Q: How many openings do you anticipate coming available for 2022?
A: This is nearly impossible to answer. We have 325 seasonal slips, and current slip renters have first right of refusal until November 1, when their deposits are due. I have had some years with 10-15% turnover, I have had some years with 3-4% turnover. A combination of covid19, the expansion of development in southern Denver, and our new facilities & the lake expansion have put our marina in high demand and higher customer retention, and while we are incredibly grateful for the support and business, we do wish we could assist more boaters in the area!
Finally, if you have any suggestions on how we can improve our new-customer-sign-up-process for future seasons, or ways we can better inform interested boaters, I would greatly appreciate the feedback! When I started here, *anyone* who signed up anytime in October was guaranteed a slip, so this extreme demand is new to us, and we are still learning the best ways to navigate how best to assist as many boaters as possible.

A quick update to my post yesterday:
We were able to get pricing and 2018 information finalized much sooner than expected, which is GREAT news. We will be able to distribute pricing and renewal information early next week, and this will also be when I am able to mail everyone's renewal packets. This means you can start dropping off your payment on Wednesday, October 4th. If you do not get an informational packet in the mail by the end of next week, feel free to stop in and I can hand you information in person.

Important information for slip renters (and potential future slip renters)!
We are in the final steps of getting our pricing, dates, and informational letters prepared for 2018 slip reservations. This year it has taken a bit longer to finalize pricing and gather the necessary informational materials from the state, as next year will have several changes involved.
Unfortunately, this means I will NOT have finalized packets for slip renters available on October 1st, as I previously stated, and we will be unable to accept reservations for slips until October 10th or 15th. (I will keep you posted on the exact date.)
If you are going to be traveling and will not be in the area, please contact me (303-791-5555) and I can meet with you in person to take a deposit for your slip, but otherwise, please be a little bit patient and I promise we will get you all renewal materials as soon as possible!

The weather outside looks [like it will very soon be] frightful.
Please remember to cover the things on your boat that need to be covered! As always, we will inform you immediately if we see any issues of concern with your boat, but please remember that the Chatfield staff cannot and will not clean snow off anyone's boat in the event of snow accumulation over this weekend. Our insurance will not allow it, and we want to ensure our workers are safe and uninjured for the rest of the season.

The "welcome back" party is still happening! Noon to 4pm on Saturday at the marina (in the restaurant). The weather looks like it will not be cooperating with us this weekend (winter is coming!), so we aren't expecting a huge turnout, but there will still be snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. A small selection of beer, wine, and mixed drinks will be available for purchase, and if you want more than just small snacks, we'll have a few lunch items available from the restaurant and marina menus.
It won't be fancy, but it will be fun! Hopefully when the weather starts improving, we can do more events, dinners, and get-togethers for our slip renters and marina enthusiasts. Suggestions always welcomed; let's make 2017 the best year yet!

Hello Marina customers! 3 weeks until opening day! We've decided to have a small "welcome back" party for our slip renters on April 1st from 12pm - 4pm to commemorate the event. We are not 100% sure of the specifics, however, it will involve some delicious snacks, food, and beverages. I will update you with more details as soon as I know them!

This is an update for all slip renters and prospective slip renters!
1.) Dry storage invoices went out 2 days ago, and some of you are already getting them in the mail. Our original plan was to send these out at the same time as the slip renewal packets, however...
2.) ... we were delayed in sending out our slip renewal packets this week because we are still missing one document that needs to be included. We will have these mailed out on October 1, so look for them in a mailbox near you next week.
3.) All that being said, if you would like to pay your slip renewal at the same time (and on the same check) as your dry storage, feel free to wait until you receive both invoices.
4.) Remember that neither payment is due until the end of October, but if you are wanting to change slips, slip availability (except electric) is on a *first come first serve* basis when we assign slips in November.
5.) HAVE A GREAT LAST BOATING MONTH IN 2016, EVERYONE!

We aren't doing the "special" Friday dinner this week, but we have made a last minute decision to open the restaurant for our normal menu from now until 6:30pm. Feel free to come in and have a quick bite!

Hi everyone!
Bad news for this weekend: The restaurant will NOT be open for breakfast or lunch. However, we will be offering most of our menu as a "to go" option in the front of the store. Please help us spread the news; we realize this is inconvenient, and we are extremely sorry!
Good news for next week: We will be opening the restaurant on Friday - Sunday. Friday we will be having a few really great specials for dinner, and will be staying open slightly later on this day. Stay tuned for more information on this!

Hello boaters! Just as a heads up, the restaurant WILL be open on Monday July 4th from 9am - 6pm (as well as our regular weekend days, of course). We'll be serving our full breakfast and lunch menu! Come in soon! We can't wait to see you, and we hope you are having an amazing holiday weekend.
