We have officially wrapped up our second season at the shelter as of March 31st! It was a great season and we served a large group of individuals.

I'd like to take a moment to extend thanks to everyone in the community who helped us care for our guests with meals, food pantry items, clothes, bedding, outreach, and all other resources presented to us. Huge thanks to the individuals who ran the show this year both at the shelter and behind the scenes, board members, subcommittee and fundraising volunteers. Special acknowledgement to staff, for ongoing support of one another and always seeking to go above and beyond the needs of our guests. Another big thank you to the Littleton PD and Fire Department/EMS who supported us when needed. The Shed, Tri-County CAP, Peer Support Center, for serving our community as well. Local businesses who welcomed our guests during the day, including Littleton Library. Shelter guests! Thank you for trusting us to give you a place to stay safe and warm, for positive and beneficial feedback for improvements, and for the endless amounts of gratitude we received for pushing this resource to exist. I have truly enjoyed watching our guests turn the shelter into its own community, offering each other support and generosity over the past two years. This operation is the perfect example of it taking a village to allow all of our community members to have their needs met. We could not have made this year the success we did without the generosity, care, and dedication from all of you. I am so grateful and proud to end this season the way we did. So now, onward to more growth and possibilities, may we continue to serve the needs within the town and hopefully even offer more in the future.

I want to take a moment to thank everyone who made last week a joyous occasion and helped raise the spirits of our guests. We fed many people for several nights in a row between Christmas Eve dinner, hot meals shared, and pantry donations received. We also handed out several Giving Tree gifts and are working to divvy up the gift cards we received. I would also like to recognize the Methodist Church, who shared with me they estimate around 70 people who showed up for Christmas Brunch!!

We hit this season's first couple nights of full capacity last week, which showed us how important it is for us to exist in the community. With this in mind, I would like to announce that we are working to increase our capacity. We currently have 12 beds available and will be increasing to 16 with some emergency accommodations (floor mattresses and camping cots), with more growth possible in the future should we need it. We appreciate the continued efforts to support our clients and growth, we cannot do it without you!

For anyone looking to provide monetary donations, checks can be sent to:
Littleton Winter Shelter
PO Box 26
Littleton, NH 03561

Or via venmo:

I cannot express gratitude enough for those so eager to aid in our services. We are just about one month into our season and just getting started!

Hi everyone! I have a few announcements and asks for the upcoming week. If anyone is interested in fulfilling these asks please send me a message or an email: [email protected]

For our first announcement, the deadline for Giving Tree drop offs will be December 23rd. If you have larger items that you would like to bring directly to the shelter, please plan with me on a time to do so. I will be collecting anything left at the co-op the evening of December 23rd.

Second, I have an ask list for pantry items that we could use at the shelter. The list is as follows:
Shelf stable milk
Hot beverage to-go cups
Carnation Breakfast beverages
Pop tarts (Cookies & Cream variety was requested specifically but others welcome as well)
Kraft Easy Mac mac & cheese cups
Water bottle drink powder packets
Fresh fruit (anything that can stay good on a counter: apples, mandarin oranges, pears, bananas, etc)
Dinty Moore or Hormel Compleats shelf stable meals
Blocks of cheese
Sliced pepperoni
Campbell's Chunky or Progresso soup cans
Banquet frozen single-serve chicken pot pies (max of 8, that's our freezer capacity)
Carrots/Celery and veggie-appropriate dip
Jerky/meat sticks
Canned sardines
Trail mix

Finally, I would love a few volunteers to help prepare components of a Christmas Eve dinner! I would like to have an entree, a couple good sides, a dessert or two, and a small variety of beverages prepared for that evening. Thank you all for your continued support and may the holidays bring you all joy! We're so grateful to our community.

Attention gift-givers! I've received a special ask for help for the holidays due to the spread of our Giving Tree news. If anyone is looking to make a family's holiday season less stressful as they transition into a better situation, please message me and I will assign a special non-shelter Giving Tree ask! Thank you all for joining me in caring for our community members!

Good morning, community! I was wondering if anyone is aware of places that might have their doors open on Christmas day, or if there are any community meals planned for this day. Trying to plan ahead for our guests and make accommodations if necessary. Thanks!
