Visit the park for our 15th annual Geology Day on Saturday, September 19! No registration required.

9:00am to 1:00pm: Volunteers on the patio will explain all of the rocks and fossils in the park with family-friendly, hands-on activities and demonstrations. Volunteers will also be at the South Rim Trail overlook to explain the amazing geologic view.

11:00am: Lecture on the geology of Roxborough in the park's amazing auditorium.

The park fills up quickly so arrive at the Visitor Center early to make sure you are there in time for the lecture.

Completely open tour slot (up to five passengers) still available - THIS Monday 8/31 at 10:30am for the Rox Ride! Registration is REQUIRED in advance! Tour is free!

Come join us at the park for a tour of Fountain Valley Trail while riding on our extended electric golf cart, the Rox Ride! This is perfect for those who would like to experience the beauty of the park without having to hike the trail. A volunteer guide will be driving and providing information on the park. Maximum FIVE passengers. All children must be accompanied by an adult and small children must be in a car seat (not provided).

Please meet at the roundabout at the end of the parking lots. Benches are available if you show up early. If you are running late, please call the Visitor Center. The driver will wait up to 15 minutes for anyone late.

Come on out this Saturday, 8/22, at 10:00a and 10:30a for Roxborough Puppet Theater in the Visitor Center Auditorium!

Roxborough puppets present short stories of wildlife: conservation, feeding behaviors, habitats, ecosystems and adaptations. Appropriate for ages 3-7, accompanied by an adult. All ages are welcome! Show lasts 10-15 minutes followed by a brief related activity, all in the auditorium inside the Visitor Center. No registration required!

Join members of the Leave No Trace Team as they share how to plan a successful hike using the first principle "Know Before You Go". Learn the basics through a Jeopardy game, display of the 10 Essentials and other activities. There will be giveaways to add to your backpacks. See you from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the visitor center patio!

We love our Friends of Roxborough State Park CO non-profit partner! Friends has helped fund so many great visitor-centric amenities, such as (but not limited to) our Rox Ride golf cart, the sun shade on our patio, the education pavilion, and coming soon, a vault toilet at Persse Place! The Stoke Fine Racing Events is directing both a 50 mile AND a 50K race on Saturday, August 15th! Come out and punish yourself on one of two amazing courses that take you through incredible trails in Roxborough State Park, the Pike National Forest, Waterton Canyon, and Douglas County Open Spaces!

TODAY! MEET AND GREET WITH K9 OFFICER BROCK AND K9 CASH!

Did you know Colorado Parks and Wildlife has a K9 division? CPW K9s are trained in a multitude of tasks that help the mission of CPW, including wildlife odor detection, article search, bear conflict, tracking/search and rescue, and investigation assistance!

We invite you to come out to the park TODAY, Saturday, August 1st between 10:00am - 11:00am to meet K9 Officer Brock and especially K9 Cash!

No registration required, meet at the Visitor Center. The park tends to be busiest in the mornings in the summertime so please plan accordingly!
