I went to The Sheriff’s reelection kick-off event today. Sheriff Reggie Marinelli has my support because she has worked so hard to become the first woman Sheriff.

From her website “The first woman to serve as Jefferson County Sheriff, with 39 years dedicated to keeping our community safe. A leader who rose through every division.” — this resonates with me and she has my vote.

I will be the first woman Democrat to serve as Assessor in Jefferson County if I’m lucky enough to earn your vote. the Sheriff and I have a lot in common.

I am a public servant and I believe in Mission-Driven Leadership. I am here to protect the integrity of our county’s most vital financial office and to ensure that the mission --fairness for all Jeffco residents -- always comes first.

As the current Deputy for the last 5 years I have the experience and expertise to take our Assessor's Office to the next level.
1. I will work FULL-TIME as the Assessor and need NO TRAINING
2. We will launch our new cloud-based valuation system with precision (an expected 2-year roll-out)
3. The Office will continue to put property owners first and improve customer service
4. We will reduce turnover in Appraisers and improve training and education
5. Advocate through the Colorado Assessor's Association for legislation that benefits property owners in a fair and equitable way
6. We will launch an outreach program to seniors, veterans and disabled property owners to educate them about legally available exemptions

It’s official. Jeffco has posted the ballot information for the upcoming primary. This race is the only contested countywide race. I’m also the only fully-qualified candidate having been the Deputy Assessor for the last 5-years.

This is not a political advocacy job. The state has specific technical duties for an Assessor and 66% of all current assessors in the state are previous Deputies. Jeffco deserves a qualified Assessor. The Democrats voted Sue most qualified at Caucus & Assembly with 55% of the delegates putting her first on the ballot.

Sue Flageolle is a mission-driven candidate who wants this job to make the department the best it can be.
