Our post and district Oratorical Contest winner Anna Pham competed at the Area 2 contest at the Mission City Post 564 in Santa Clara, CA. On Sunday 8 March 2026. It was a tough competition with the 4 contestants putting forth their aspects associated with the constitution. All did an excellent job presenting her oratory. Anna placed 3’rd but showed she implimented the suggestions we gave her at our events. This experience will serve her well in the future. Our Cub Scout Pack 914 had their Blue & Gold banquet tonight for the advancement of pack members to their next level and for four who received their Arrow of Light and transition to Boy Scouts. Livermore Vice Mayor Kristie Wang presented certificates from the city for the four Arrow of Light recipients. Troop 924 accepted them into their troop as they cross the bridge into Boy Scouts. Interesting ceremony.

February 7 members of the post attended a flag retirement ceremony hosted by Livermore-Pleasanton Elks Lodge with Boy Scout Troop performing the honors.

The post hosted the District 10 Oratorical Contest today. The winner, Anna Pham from Granada High School, was presented her prize check by District 10 Commander Don Reed. Several members from the post were present to help her prepare for the Area 2 competition on 7 March at the Santa Clara University Music Hall.

Our Cub Scout Pack 914 had their Pinewood Derby today at the Livermore Veterans Hall. Lots of excitement by the kids racing their cars. Happy to be supporting their program and adventures.

The post had the honor of providing the color guard and participation in the Veterans Day Ceremony at the local retirement home Heritage Estates. We assisted in presenting certificates of appreciation, service flags and a star from a retired flag to the resident veterans and socializing after the event.

Members of the Post attended and participated in the Veterans Day Ceremony at the Livermore Veterans Memorial Building. Well done commemorating the foundation of the day and it’s history. A solom bell ringing was done at 1100, for the WWI guns going silent on the 11 hour of the 11 day of the 11 month of 1918. Several Quiltsof Valor were presented to local veterans, which is always a nice touch to any veteran event 🇺🇸

Livermore American Legion Post 47 joined with Livermore VFW Post 7265 for a joint color guard carrying all the services flags, each post flag and the American flag held high for the 9 November 2025 Veterans Day Parade. We were pleased to have our cub scout troop 914 join us and walked with us down the parade route. The judge platform had the District 10 Commanders for both the American Legion and VFW present to observe the procession.

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation. Their courage, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to freedom continue to inspire us.

As we remember those who gave their lives, we also reaffirm our duty to uphold the values they fought for, duty, service, and sacrifice. Let us carry forward the torch they passed to us, not just in word, but in action, supporting our veterans, empowering their families, and ensuring their legacy lives on in every community, every business, and every act of service.

Today, we remember. Tomorrow, we carry forward.
