On May 29 at around 2:30 a.m., Livermore Police responded to a report of several people attempting to steal a catalytic converter on the north side of town. The victim interrupted the theft, and the suspects left the area in a gray SUV.

Officers located the SUV a short time later, conducted a stop and detained the occupants.

During a search of the SUV, officers found multiple reciprocating saws, masks, a floor jack, and a battery charger actively charging several saw batteries. One of the suspects admitted to attempting to steal the catalytic converter and said they regularly commit catalytic converter thefts.

The suspects were identified as 36-year-old Eliso Gallardo of Stockton, who is on parole for robbery; 35-year-old Juan Cazarez-Alvarado of Stockton; and 33-year-old Jose Perez of Stockton.

All three were arrested on various charges, including grand theft involving property from a motor vehicle.

When a child with autism goes missing, or officers respond to a call involving a loved one with dementia or another cognitive condition, those first few moments matter.

The Livermore Police Department’s Special Needs Registry helps first responders better understand an individual’s needs before they arrive, helping create safer, calmer, and more positive police interactions during stressful situations.

This voluntary program allows families to share information that may assist officers during emergencies, welfare checks, missing person incidents, or calls for service at a residence.

We’ve also made registration easier than ever with a new mobile-friendly form that is quick and simple to complete.

Fill out the form today.

On Sunday, our Mounted Unit participated in the Concannon Vineyards Memorial Celebration, spending time with community members and families throughout the event.

Today, members of our Honor Guard joined the Livermore Valley Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 7265 and the City of Livermore for the Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony at Stockmen’s Park, honoring those who gave their lives in service to our country.
